The white death doesn't come from the snow, its from all the moronic drivers that don't know how to drive in the snow.

+1, my mom lost power for a month, and wasn't prepared. After making 2 ten mile kerosene and water runs for her on an ATV in the freezing cold, I went and bought her some kerosene jugs, water containers, a portable stove and a small generator. She's ready now.

I went out tonight to double check all my stuff, the 4-wheel drive truck won't shift into 4-wheel, and it's leaking antifreeze. Fuck. Last week? Working like a charm. The night before snow? No-go, good old American-made quality.

Well, I do have heat, water & food ready. If I don't slide all over the road in the little car getting home, I'll be fine no matter what falls from the sky.

I just left the house before it started snowing, and I spent the past 4 hours on the fucking road. when it shouldn't have taken more than 20 minutes.

Bailed from work at Sidney around 4:15.  Weather cold, overcast, no snow.  Went to the Troy Walmart to dump an old car battery and by the time I came out a fucking blizzard was in process.  Ohio snow-rons were in full force on I-75 .  Only I an some guy from Michigan were making any headway (50 - 55).  Thank God I only had to go down two more exits (69, Co Rd 25A).

One of my wife's co-workers' husband works just north of Cincy.  He's spending the night down there.  Now that is fucked.

Hmmm looks like i have about 3" of snow on the back deck so far. it's not really the snow i'm worried about but the ice storms we get. looks like just snow tonight.
I did see some video of 275 earlier, looked like a parking lot.  mmk with a nice glass of MM in front of the fireplace.

Well as luck would have it I was drving the tracker rescue vehicle today. Upon departure from work an 18 wheeler carrying hazerdous material was stranded off in a ditch. I had some spare time so I hooked up to it and had her out in minutes. I told the trucker I didnt want his $20 and with tears building up in his eyes he gave a big trucker thumbs up and hugged me.

After that I headed home but pulled a couple wrangler rubicons out in the process. Seems their rigs just arent as extreme duty qualified as the tracker snow assault vehicle. Thats ok though because I dont mind helping out other drivers in my spare time and not everyone has the skills necessary to operate a snow rescue rig like my geo tracker.

I dont want your praise,
I dont want your dough,
I just want to get you out of the snow

The city of eaton is almost dead!...... hardly a car on the streets, except for the cops...  The wife an I dressed up in our best carharts , an went snow-quadding.......

we are tearing up an down the streets, an alleyways ...... What a HOOT!!!!!...... doing a donut on a 4 wheeler is a blast!.....  we went ripping down the road, (ridding with traffic. ) when the only car we passed was one of the city's "finest"... he just looked at us an laughed..... he caught up with us a little later, an said we were "nuts" for being out in the snow, but since we were wearing helmets, an had the headlights an taillights on , he could care less...... warned us to becareful, an enjoy the snow!...

Finally got most of packed up snow on the quad kncked off..... looks like we got 6-8 inches of the  white stuff.......

COLT!

May all the folks in the NY forum laugh at the general population of OHIO.   Channel  7 wearing out the fact it is snowing a little bit.

I got on 70 E at Englewood, not a whole lot problem, just the people who afraid of snow.  Got on 75 N, and went flying up the right lane most of way to Tipp City, actually passed a pack of bunched up brake lighting cars like they standing still..  Got almost to exit 73, and cars were all staggered like the was no were to go, fella in truck started to push up the middle and flashing his lights to get them back in the 3 lines that the interstate is supposed to be.  I went flying up the right lane again,  everybody get in the left lane and let me have the right.

Really nice to have a small FWD car, manual trans, and 4 snow tires, and of course, spending 7yr in Buffalo NY  develops snow skills, either go, or get run over.

I had to be down town Kolumbus at 6:00 pm, it was just starting to spit snow when I went in and when I came out 1.5 hours later and it was full fledge Blizzard, we must of had an inch and a half.  I-71 North was really bad too but Old Yeller was in 4X4 and I had no problems.  It seems to have let up a little now but it had been a while since I had seen it snow that hard.

I just love how they hype the "Heavy Snow Warning" for a measly 3-6 inches. I remember when this was just considered a light snow storm. Now it is a major blizzard. I'm surprised that they havne't cancelled school for the next week.

Lost power about 11::30pm, came back on around 6:30am. Kind of sucked as I just got a promotion in BF2 and was looking forward to a weapon upgrade, yeah that was my hardship.

Snow Tire Report:
The Nokian RSi's are great. Most notable improvement compared to the Michellin Pilot Alpins I used for the last few years is under braking. Happy with the purchase so far. Just need to raise the car height a little more for the rest of season.

Always a  Hero. And poet. A gentleman's gentleman.
It's no small wonder I heard your name being chanted at various gas stations throughout the Miami Valley this cold cruel morn'.

Thank You Johnny Macaroni, for your selfless devotion.

My buddy just got NEW front tires on his car.  The rear ones have little tread life left.
It's a FRONT-wheel drive car, and we can do donuts just like RWD cars can!!!
The front tires hook up and the rear end just swings like crazy.
It put a BIG smile on my face,

Other than that, I'm not a fan of snow at all.  I just wish people would drive smarter in it.
6" of snow is not hard to drive in, if you take your time.

Thats what the handbrake is for !    Steer with the left, handbrake with the right (if the handle is in the middle) and gas with the foot.    More for on dry pavement.
