What took you so long?  I've been packing since 4/26/04.

Just kidding man - good for you.  I'd like to see 'em in the numbers they anticipated.  Turns out they've only issued about 10% of the number they expected.

ETA: On topic, Rev-Rob - I paid $100 for the class and $40-45 for the background check.

Rev-Rob, does your screen name mean you want to be a packin' pastor?

Turns out that I didn't really see the need to get one until Toby Hoover started gloating over the poor turn out.  I don't really like the car clause but what drive would there be to fix it if no one bothered to get the permit in the first place.  I don't currently plan on carrying much but if I so desire I can now.

Understood.  I'm with you on the car clause.  I'm sure it will get changed eventually.

I paid 150 + 44 for the check. Got a nasty look from a sherriff today for the shoulder holster in the car but he didn't pull me over. (people are much more polite in traffic)

LMAO!  I've never worn mine in a shoulder holster (CCW, anyways).

Might be worth the investment.

Whats wrong with the car clause just throw it up on the dash when you get in?

Yes when I was in PA and had my CCW I was called a Pistol Paken Pastor more then once.

If you want it accessible & loaded, you have to wear it in a holster in plain sight.  Loaded & on the dash is a big no-no.

Pastor, huh?  Denomination?

The dash suggestion is a joke as much as in plain sight in a car is!

Im a Lutheran minister.   My denominational affiliation at this point is probably temporary.

The following is straight from the weekly Trading Post.

NRA/CCW Course. Non-profit group gives classes in Wadsworth as a community service.
$39.00 Call Roger. 330 335 9205

This is the class I completed last fall with my wife.
The 10 hour classroom time went by very fast and the range time instruction catered to all levels.

I was raised Lutheran.  I'm sorta a displaced Southern Baptist right now.

I wanted to add that im discussted by the news papers saying that CCW issue has fallen short as if that implies that the people dont want it.
I have been trying to work out getting a class myself and I have found a number of reasons why I have not been able to do it.
1.  $100 which is what allot of the classes cost is not pocket change.   Classes can be found for less but you may have to travel and see #2.
2. Scheduale, If you and your spouse work and have kids even the saturday classes can be rough to attend. 12 hours is half a day to clear of work and family.

Ya know when I lived in PA I think my CCW cost $25 and 3 references.   Mailed it in and in 2 weeks I had my CCW.   I did not have to takr a class but I did anyway.
