Anybody going?

I know it's small but there might be some deals.............maybe?
I need to sell a TEC-22 (get some funds to finish my 9mm AR) & I might bring some of my more "colorful babies" out to show people that all AR's aren't black!

I got there late with my daughter(22, autistic) I usually take her with me to this one because it's small and she's made friends with some of the regulars there. (I think it's just having Dad to herself)
Anyway, got there late so I didn't really think I was going to "do anything."  Traded the TEC-22 to a young man who's eyes lit up when he saw the AR's I was carrying.
Him: "What you got on that?"(pointing to a RRA "M-4" style with an 11.5/5.5 in an A-2 upper I had slung over my shoulder)
Me: "a sling."
His Dad & Me: "laughter"
Him: (looking at the TEC-22) "Do any trading?"
Me: (looking at Dad to see if it's alright) "Maybe, what you got?"
Dad nodded and the kid pulled out a bolt action pistol in .17 rimfire with a nice Bushnell scope on it. (He hasn't taken his eyes off the TEC-22) I handed the TEC to him and he handed me the bolt gun.
After looking things over he said "Got any boot?" I was kinda intrigued with the .17 so I rumaged around in my pockets and found my last $25. To tell the truth I didn't know what his gun was worth but I knew he wanted that TEC-22. He said "I reckon I can do that." I looked at his Dad and asked "Is that ok? He was laughing and said "Sure."
I was quite sure that we had just wittnessed the young mans first gun trade! He looked pretty happy and now I had to get some ammo and cleaning gear for my new pistol. And I was broke! Oh well, that's what credit cards are for. I stopped at the gunshop before I went home. $33 later I left with cleaning gear and 2 boxes of ammo. I wonder if I can use a .22 suppressor on it? The fellas at the gunshop seemed to think I came out pretty good on the deal. I'll know tomorrow afternoon when I sight it in.(And I still need a 9mm barrel!)

(edited to add) I'm seeing alot of people walking around trying to sell AR's I guess I'll check the show out more closely tomorrow. Maybe I'll bring some "AR critters" tomorrow.

If I remember correctly, it's put on by the TriState Gun Collectors Association or something like that.  It's not generally that big, but I will say that I was able to end a hunt for a M1911 'butterknife" front sight there.  I'd stop if I was in the area.

Was this before or after the 40oz?

ETA: I cant remember if its the carbine, pistol or both but I hear they are actually pretty reliable. Made in Dayton if Im not mistaken. Ive shot the carbine but not the pistol. You'll have to bring it next time you guys are down.

Mansfield, and they're pieces of crap, both of them. Not even good for a boat anchor. I've never seen anything else made of pot metal rust so fast as those things.

You'll get alot of flak from people on this board if you buy certain firearms or even red dot scopes(axe swingset). I get teased nonstop about my M17 but I dont let it get me down. I know that one day the M17 will prove itself superior to the M4 and will be used by our military

Bottom line is, people here have alot of opinions and sometimes you just have to take them with a grain of salt rather than let it get to you.

Lonewalker-
Don't let them get you down about your Hi-Point.  The company backs them well and they go bang.  Many users report good accuracy.  Is Seal Team Six going to be carrying them?  No, but who cares?  You are pursuing your shooting hobby as your circumstances allow.  Have fun.
