Anyone have an Ohio LLC from the Secretary of State ? I just did this for $ 125. Now I can buy suppressors or submachineguns whenever I want. No LEO signoff !!!!! I already ordered a suppressor.

What type of business?  A buddy and I are seriously contemplating starting our own company and had planned on going the LLC route.

I did quite a bit of research. You don't actually need to be selling anything or have employees. In Ohio, you can have a 1 member LLC, which could be yourself. The State never asks you what kind of business you are operating. It is so easy, I'm surprised more people don't do this.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing.  How long did take for you to get your paper work back from the state?

hkusp is correct, you don't need to sell or employ anyone to form an LLC in Ohio and this allows you to acquire NFA/Title II firearms without a CLEO signoff.

Don't know if this is a coincidence but I just ordered a AAC suppressor for a gentleman in Ohio who just started his own LLC because he couldn't get a signoff.

So the LLC doesn't have to be firearms related?

The State had my Certificate to me in 15 days. It was posted on their web site sooner. Just do a business name search when you are picking out your LLC name. I ordered a Pilot from Scott. He has a great price on it. According to the State Dept. of Taxation, I don't need to file any additional State Tax Forms.

No the LLC can be anything or nothing, if you already have a business that is corp or LLC you can use that, if not you can file online. Does not have to be Firearms related.

One of the biggest concerns with the LLC or Corp is you have to keep it current, if you let it lapse or disolve you are in possession of contraband NFA items, which is not a good thing

I would name it something simple , like if it was mine,  "Scott Cousino, LLC" that way your form 4's will be "in" your name, less confusion for the locals if they want to see your "papers". Just my .02.

If you are in the Toledo Area shoot me an email when you get close to buying/transfering I'm just a kitchen table FFL/SOT and have some good pricing.

????

I thought that you had to file 'Annual Reports' - Is that correct?

Scott - What is required to keep the LLC Active?
How much of of pain is it to change everything if I move (still in Ohio) in the next year or so?

Dammit, now I'm running out of excuses for not getting into C3 weapons.
If what has been posted here is correct, this is gonna cost me some $$$$$.

I don't personally have a LLC set up as I am a sole propietor on my FFL/SOT.

Does an LLC fufill the requirements as its a limted liability company and not a corporation?

And that you file papers of organization and not incorporation?

An LLC is considered a Domestic Corporation. Go to the Ohio Secy of State website here, OH Secretary of State.
Then click on Corporate Forms.
