If I were in any other state in the midwest, this would be a pretty simple answer.... but considering CA is CA, figured I better ask. Are you legally allowed to keep a firearm in your office or is there some crazy law that says you cant keep a handgun locked in your office (which is private property)? Now this is regardless of whether or not "company policy" says you can or cant... worst they can do is fire you if they were ever to find out. I have my own private office so putting a little handgun vault in my locked desk and no one ever knowing its there would be no issue.
Figure if Im not allowed to CC in CA, might as well at least make sure Im armed where I can be. Thanks! |

I'm far from the legal authority on the matter, but I would suspect as long as you meet the requirements for storage at home you would be fine.
Click Criminal Storage of a Firearm In California, a person commits criminal storage of a firearm (in the third degree) by keeping or leaving a loaded firearm in a place where the defendant knows (or should have known) that a child under the age of 18 is likely to gain access to the gun without permission of the child’s parent or guardian, and the defendant does not take reasonable steps to secure the firearm. (Cal. Pen. Code, § 25105.) |
