In the cab in a gun rack, unlocked, unloaded.
Still OK or did they mess this one up too?

Old pickup has built in gun racks and long road trip. Don't want to leave it in the bed.

It would be better off behind the seat.  Nobody uses them anymore, and you are asking for attention.  Including tickets.  When you do get pulled over, you will be asked why it is not behind the seat.

and then there's the "school zone" thing. If your running out in the desert or mountains hunting, I could see it. Why ask for trouble. I'm a proud gun owner but I don't put any kind of gun related stickers on my trucks anymore.

this is why we are losing our guns rights in CA more and more, out of sight, out of mind. if the general public only knew how many guns were in CA and how often they are near them maybe that wouldnt be so petrified of the scary things. now the school zone thing could be issue however im sure theres a transportation clause in the law or for those who live right next to schools. the rifle has to be unloaded though.

So what is your idea of "the scary thing" ? mine is having some dumbass LE taking my gun\s because he doesn't know shit about the law. I have more then one EBR and more then one that's home built. I also have long guns with mags tubes that hold more then 10 rounds.....
