Im not judging laws, just looking for an answer.  Im wondering if there are any CA laws that prevent the shipping of an AR upper into CA?

I think that's a good question for the legal professionals that often reply and help out.  I think there is no liability to the sender/shipper. But I am unsure at what point having a readily usable (connected to a receiver) less than 16" barrel and ownership of an AR15 pattern rifle make possession of a short barreled rifle SBR. That liability is on the person who buys it or possesses it.  I know that if the person receiving the less than 16" barrelled upper owns an AR15 pattern pistol, that it is perfectly okay. I have always pinned a muzzle device on before connecting it to a receiver for that reason.  I dont know if its 100% legal to receive by all persons in the mail. -W

Thanks for the replies.  A guy just bought my 20" upper, and I just wanted to make sure all was legal.

Thanks guys.

Parts are parts. Ship it.

The length of the barrel isn't important.
