Came in from Texas on business today. Traveled from Ontario to Temecula on Hwy 15. WTF is up with all the people driving 60 - 65 mph in the left F'n lane? This clown was the worst of the bunch! The people in the right lanes are passing us! Is this the norm out here? http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac324/TXGUNNER308/IMG00178-20091220-14451.jpg You're so far back that he hasn't even registered your presence. In all fairness, I've never been able to go over 60 on ANY freeway in the DFW area, even the toll road, so maybe you should be thankful for 65mph? In all seriousness, the problem you described seems to be getting worse lately. I had the same problem a few times today on 99, especially between Stockton and Modesto. |

Two problems.
Idiots in LA view all lanes as passing lanes and routinely go 85MPH in the truck lane passing semis while the rest of traffic does 65-70mph in the 1,2,3 lanes. And second, yes the idiots get completely self obsessed and will sit in the #1 lane for eternity forcing people to move around them. They are clueless and cannot take a hint. Especially frustrating when you have to climb the I5 south on the Grapevine and one of these idiots refuse to take the hint and get out of the damned fast lane. If they want to go 55mph up a 4-6 mile grade then they can move over with the damned truckers and leave 2 lanes open for the people who know how to drive. |

I backed off to take the pic and get a better shot! There was like 20 cars behind me. This F'n clown was holding everybody up! |

It happens but only rarely in my 20 years of experience driving that road. Mostly you'll find 10 mph over the limit is the speed of traffic and the fast lane will be doing 15-20 mph over. That portion of the 15 is north or south of a huge blue-hair community. North towards Corona and south to Escondido the road expands to 3 and 4 lanes. There are four or five cities full of retirement villages - tens of thousands of folks from SunCity, Hemet, and Laurence Welk Village, you do not want to be running through there in weather! Combine the blue hairs with the slow rises that were designed in the 1950s and the traffic slows down on the hills. The same thing goes though out the area, gravity is a bitch. The area just north of the 215/15 split is the worse where the idiots that were in six lanes on the 12 lane wide 15 have to figure out that there are now fewer lanes following the split and resort themselves out.
On the positive side you'd can put away the professional courtesy card as they don't ticket for a mile an hour over the limit (save on Camp Pendleton!) so once that Ford truck moves out of the way you can set yourself up at a better speed and enjoy. Sometimes I'll pass on the right but not very often. |

They got to start giving tickets for going slow in the passing lane. It is 100% legal to go faster than the posted limit in the passing lane for a short time, that is what it is for. Get out! I haven't a clue of that the posted limit is on ANY freeway in California as I always drive with traffic and conditions. |
