It looks like I might be invading ya'lls state in a few weeks.

What do I need to know about the Palmdale area?
What are the laws on handguns? Will I be able to bring my 92fs with high cap mags or will I need to bring low cap ones?
What would I need to do to my ar to bring it into the state?
Also are xd's allowed in Cali?

Many thanks for any help. Joe

ETA-Thank you Paul.

10 rounds or less only. See the post tacked to the top of the forum

There are three laws to run though, bring your M1A. See the post tacked to the top of the forum

Palmdale can get cold in the wintertime, especially in the mornings.  Don't be fooled, bring a coat.

Are you visiting or moving here? If you are moving then I could give you pointers about where to live. Visiting? Where are you staying at? Basically stay away from anywhere East of the 14 freeway in Palmdale. Same goes for nearby Lancaster. Anywhere west side is usually decent with some exceptions. The weather is nice right now during the day, but like Mike said it gets cold here. Its been about 35-45 at night lately and it will probably get colder when you are here.  I dunno about hicaps but im sure you can bring an XD, my friend owns one he bought here. Stay away from the gunstores here, they are all dipshits and ripoff artists. The only semi-decent one is on Lancaster Blvd. and Sierra Hwy and all the cool people that worked there are either dead or have been stuffed and are just standing there as displays. There are a couple of us that live in the Antelope Valley. IM me if you need anything

Just visiting, well working more like it. Don't know where I'll be staying but I'll be working on a new hospital they are building there. Supposed to only be in Palmdale for a few weeks. Should have time to check out the area. This will be my first trip to California so thanks for the coat suggestion, I didn't know if it was a higher elevation than L.A. I'll post more when I get more info on when I'll be staying at and when. Thanks again.  Joe

Isn't Palmdale at about 2,000 feet above sea level, or more.  It is high desert.

It's a little early in the year but it can get cold and windy and snow later on in the winter.  Plus if you head up into the mountains, it can get into real weather temps.

Leave your hi-caps home.  Not legal here unless purchased before the ban went into effect.

I think it's worse than that.  They are not legal unless they were owned AND inside California before Jan 1, 200 (the ban date).  You cannot bring hi caps into this state when you move here.

It's not that nice of town.

Be leary of Zombies.

They will remove any and all items left in the truck bed

Please do not judge california via Palmdale.

I used to race at a roadcourse called willow springs and I spent 2 weekends a month for about 5 years up there. I wish that I could paint a better picture.

Sounds like you should have researched a bit more into what part of the state you moved to there turbo.
