I would be very interested to see videos of how you guys behind the wall in Kalifornistan reload your weapons.  I'm talking about seeing how fast you can do a mag change with a bullet button or top loading AR.

Obviously, top loading takes bunch of time and is a bit akward.

The bullet button only takes a couple of seconds to use your "tool" to push the button and drop the mag.  Inserting a fresh 10-round mag into the rifle takes the usual 1 to 2 seconds as with any AR.  The whole deal does require the usual practice as with any weapon.

Go with the bullet button and forget the locked mag / top loading approach.

I wont be going with either as I live in Vermont.  Just interested in the technique as I am sure some of you have mastered it.

I've got an off list lower that I use with some of my magazines just like normal.

I converted my FAL to a fixed magazine and found that it was actually quicker to feed the magazine stripper clips then to change magazines while prone. Shooting off of the bi-pod I could even keep the rifle sighted and just slam the strips in 10-rounds at a time.

Ive seen guys with a bullet button have a bullet on the end of one of those retractable key chains that clip on to your belt.

But as far as videos go... I dont know if anyone has posted any.

Here's one of TenPercent firearms shop owner clearing a jam on his Beowulf using a bullet button.

Lots more on youtube.

I still topload as I travel outside CA frequently and simply unscrew the setscrew and the mag release functions as normal.

For fast reloading, I've seen people with the appropriate 'tool' attached to a short lanyard dangling from their right wrist. When it comes time to reload, simply whiplash the tool into the hand, insert into the BB, and depress. Requires taking hand from pistol grip, so it adds about three seconds to the reload time. Probably annoying if you're on the clock, but somehow I doubt the legislators really figured it would be that quick.

I drop my mags by pushing the mag release.

At last...

A perk for being a left handed shooter in a right handed world.
