| has the DOJ approved the bullet button yet ? if not when the heck are they finally gonna hopefully ?? |
|
No they haven't. But I really doubt they'll ever give an offical approval. Remember, they don't want us to be doing any of this. But the law is the law and the BB and other mag locks are compliant with the law. It's the same reason they have never removed the "AR/AK Series" ban from their website info, despite the Harrot court case stating they needed all to be NAMED BY MAKE AND MODEL. Until we get a pro-gun DOJ staff don't expect them to really clarify in writing what is legal. They'd rather you just assume and FEAR that it is illegal.F.A.S. Out |
| ya hopefully we do get some DOJ staff memebers that are pro gun .... hinking.gif but ya as long as i got a prince 50 im legal no? :) |
|
as long as they don't say it's illegal, then it's legal, this is America! till they ban the Prince 50 and BB, you're good. I like the BB for CA residents, because all it requires is a bullet or pin to drop the mag, but I like to build with a Prince 50 for guys that don't plan on staying in CA, because it lets them leave the state and just remove a couple of set screws... I'll never build an AR on one that has the mag well welded shut, it just "ain't right". In my mind, I always put them together with compliance to the law. But I always consider that one day these laws may go away or we may find our selves in civil war or we'll be attacked by an outside nation and will need to defend our lives with them. |
There is a letter floating around from a AG Admin 1. In that letter she clearly states if a Stag 15 doesnt meet the defined AW, then its legal. The DOJ or AG will not say something is legal, only why its illegal. The muffler on my car is illegal, but when modified to comply with the law, its legal. The device used is neither legal or illegal. A MMG, U15, BB, or P50 will never be stated as "legal". Its simply a part that gets put on a weapon in order to comply with current laws. If that item doesnt do what it was intended to do, then it still is legal, it just doesnt make the weapon legal. Modifing firearms to comply with local laws has always been acceptable, so for the AG/DA/DOJ to say other wise is improper. They can not take a stand either way. Each case brought before a DA will be looked at on the facts presented. People have had to give up their AR-15 with a BB installed, others have not. Some have seen jail time, or convictions, others have not. Dont get stupid, dont poke the bear unless you got a big fucking stick.....and if you do call me...I love a good fight! |
correct, I need to clarify that. A Person has plead guilty, to several crimes, along with a "no contest" plea on an AR-15 that had a BB installed. The BB wasn't illegal, the person just didn't want to fight the DA and go to court, so he gave up. The deal was he gave up the AR15 and did some community service. I do not believe the conviction was felony weapons possession. |
What about prince 50 mag locks? |
Didn't SwimmingPoolGuy over at Calguns have a P50? If he did he is the only case I heard of. No arrest, gun confiscated, he got it back like a year later. |
| hmmm i guess ima just get a bullet button then =/ i rarely go to the range and shoot anyway i mostly go to the desert so i can be alone or with friends i feel more free there (even though were in CA) hinking.gif |
You're missing the point of discussion. It's regarding a legally configured rifle with a MMG. Either reducing the wing but still keeping the web above the line, or just the grip portion of the U15 . I thought it was but wanted other opinions. |
Exactly! I could shave off a portion of the wing from the MMG, keeping the web above the receiver line. I'd rather see a group effort instead of just me. |
