5 years ago I vowed NEVER to go back to Magic Mountain because of all the gang bangers and general shit bags walking arounded maddogging paying customers.

Fast foward to present, my son just turned 8 and wants to go on a hardcore roller coaster, so has anyone been there recently? Has it improved or is it still a shithole?

I thought that MM had some kind of on going "discrimination" lawsuit recently from a couple of wanna bees that were harassed for looking like hoods? Seems like they stepped up security in recent years.

I have not been in several years, but I do live very close by and understand it is still a real S***hole. They have metal detectors, but that doesn't prevent these thugs from just being asses....
Sorry.

Hit the MouseHouse California Adventure Park instead. The California Scream’n coaster will keep the best of them satisfied. Besides, bag checks only; no wands. Remember, it works both ways.

My daughter's bag was just stolen there... I understand about the shitbags that are customers there but the employees are nothing to brag about.. When my daughter went to report the bag stolen, they say "Oh we get a t least one of these a day"

After she was told to put her bag in this box when she went on a ride, she gets off and asks the dork "where is my bag?" He said "Duhhhh duno.. musta got heisted"

WTF???

When I called management the very next day, they had the same old "Who gives a crap" attitude... KNOWING they have a theft problem, you think they would at least warn those that put thier bags in a box "Hey, you may want to put that in a locker because they get stolen"

Sounds like the same old bullshit to me. Fuck 'em then- I hope they bulldoze it and make a golf course. Cocky attitudes like that make me want to donate the diesel.

everytime i have ever been to MM (and i used to alot cuz i live near it) it has been shitty. the usual "took the free pepsi can ticket " groups of low-lifes and the employees suck ass. i dated an employee of MM and she hated it. the employees act like they dont give two shits and like they hate their job (not like anyone could blame them). half the rides are always broken down or WILL break down while youre there. the only good thing is the funnel cakes. go to KNotts or D-land

Best time to go is on Superbowel Sunday.

Hardly anyone there and you can walk onto rides with 10-15 minute, sometimes no, wait lines.

Rest of the year, fucking forget it.

It's nicknamed "Minority Mountain" for a reason.

I went last year.  Had a blast, but skipped most of the over-the-top roller coasters because of the three-hour lines.  Still had fun.

Yeah, the boyfriend had his phone fall out of his pocket on a ride (his fault, he admits) and one of the employees jacked it and ran up a bunch of charges on it.  Thankfully, he got them taken off, but it still sucks.

I had way more fun at Knott's Berry Farm, to tell you the truth.  Relaxed atmosphere, short lines.

Magic Mountain has really fun coasters, but like everyone here has said...a lot of the people there (employees and customers) suck.  I haven't been there in ages.  The last time I was there, Goliath was brand new.  I waited in line for almost 3 hours and when I got to the front, they kicked me and my friends out because we didn't have a "ticket."  Well, it turns out that when we got in line, whoever was supposed to be handing out "tickets" wasn't there and none of us even knew that we needed tickets.  So after trying to tell them this, they just threatened to have us kicked out of the park.  I haven't been back since.

Knott's Berry Farm is still a fun place to go, though.  And they have a lot of good food too.  I don't know where you live, but Knott's is a lot closer than Magic Mountain too.  (I live in LA.)

Never heard that one before...You know what is funny is that the park LITERALLY transforms as the sun goes down... You DONT want to be there after sundown.

That is BS about what that moron did with your BF's phone... If anyone wants to take a peak at what the country will be like in 10 years.. go to Magic Mountain.

The employee should have set an example.. .what a low life prick.

Knott's Berry Farm is having Toys-For-Tots.  We went last weekend, not too crowded and the rides are similar to Magic Mountain, for an 8yo.  There's only next weekend left.

Went this past saturday with military discount tickets, just the wife and I. We enjoyed it, no long lines, no burning sun. Now, what is this about lowlifes? I guess I don't spend too much time worrying about that I guess, not an issue to me.

Wow! This is really sad to hear. Some of my best memories are of Magic Mountain. I had a season pass every year and worked there one summer. Of course this was back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth (the 80s)

Yeah, that place pretty much sucks!  They have a problem with dirtbags there, yet you have a 17 year old kid at the gate telling off-duty LEO's that they can't carry their weapons inside.....  That makes sense.....  There are too many other nice parks in CA to go to.  Skip this one.
