Having lurked here for a while and been a member for a number of years, there are many circumstances where we often hear of a bad experience with a vendor or company here on AR15.com. Botach is one of those companies that I have heard many negative things about, both on this forum, and several others that I participate on. I recently had a sale with Botach and it was a positive one so I felt that I would share it with everyone to give them positive feedback. I ordered a couple of Streamlight LED flashlights, TL-3 LED from their website because the price was a really good one for this light at $49.99 each. After I received them, I realized that they seemed no where near the 90 lumens that Streamlight advertises. My TLR-1 made by the same company was significantly brighter although advertised at 80 lumens. I contacted Botach (this did take several tries as it seems that they may have a small staff available to handle the customer service calls) and told them that I was unhappy with my purchase. They sent me a return label to send my lights back defective via UPS. I left instructions for them to refund my purchase price once they received the lights. I knew that I would never see my shipping and handling back as they had already sent the lights and now paid for the return shipping. In my note I told them that if they were willing to send me a Streamlight TLR-1 light which they have for $99.95, without any additional shipping, I would take that instead of the refund. This is an awesome weapon light for the money and I could always use another one. I felt that I already paid for shipping once and received a product that was not as advertised although this was not Botach's fault. To my surprise I received the TLR-1 2 days later! I thought that I would share this as I was very surprised as I am often hearing horror stories about Botach. What could have been a very negative first transaction with this company, and I had my reservations before buying from them, turned out to be very positive. My new TLR-1 is even brighter and whiter than my previous one. |
+1 My first buying experience was reasonable. The quality of subsequent buys deteriorated rapidly. I had more than one email trail/exchange that clearly demonstrated they flat out lied to me. They’re a classic bait and switch operation. Their email adds have been relegated to the junk mail folder. |

I orderd some boots from them, they sent me my info with the order confrimation. I then called and asked them if I could come pick them up? This lady got all pissy with me and said "only badged personel can come into their store". I said ok, I am a _________ County Firman, what time do you open. She got all pissy told the hours and hung up. I called again about the boots later that day they said it would be a minimum 2 weeks. I did end up putting the cancel on that order. |

I've ordered from Botach about a dozen times or more, and only had minor problems, nothing significant enough to rant about. Some of my best deals came from Botach. I guess if you want the best price sometimes you have to suffer the inconveniences. Once I bought an ARMS #1 mount from them and had to send it back because it was out of spec. The replacement mount was also out of spec so I sent it to ARMS and they replaced it with a new one that spec'd perfectly. ARMS had some bad QC problems awhile back, not Botach's fault. If you order multiple items, Botach won't ship until they have everything in stock. Once I ordered a pair of boots at a great closeout price and another item I ordered at the same time was out of stock. By the time the backordered item came in, they had sold out of my size and I had to cancel the boot order. It was irritating but I got over it. I didn't really need new boots but it was a good deal so I couldn't pass it up. Meh, I have other boots. Some folks would come unglued over something like that. Over the years I've bought slings, ammo, a Luminox watch, Hatch gloves, tritium night sights, and numerous other things with nary a problem. |
