| has anyone heard of that squirrel hunt up in nor cal in march..i'm thinking of going if i can gain more info on it |

LONG ago I heard of a place in Nor Cal where they line up on either side of a long road through a valley and shoot the ever loving shit out of ground squirrels, hundreds upon hundreds of them. Can't for the life of me recall where though, but the varmint hunter/long range shooter in me desperately wants to find out. |

Yeah, it is. If you want some info, call the Greater Surprise Valley Chamber of Commerce at (530) 279- 2001 and leave your info, stating that you'd like a flyer/info for the 2007 squirrel hunt. The official 'hunt' is the weekend of March 23rd, and the only official event is the dinner (there was a raffle, too last year) that evening. Last year, there was a sign-up sheet and you had to pay a fee to participate in the dinner and raffle. The sign-up also ensured that you would be paired up with a rancher in the area. This year, no fee and no sign-up. I'm not exactly sure how those who have no contacts are supposed to find a willing ranch. Like I said, though... call the number or send an email to [email protected]. Here's the email I got back from them, this year:
