Hello everyone after finding out that I can build a OLL AR, I got started right away. This morning I went out and bought a lower made from Double star. I currently own a bushmaster AR and have no complaints, I was wondering about the quality of Double Star lowers if they are the same or what? I would like some of your opinions about DS lowers, Thanks!

hey, yeah I bought a dbl star as my first oll, i have yet to have a problem with it, everything lines up works smooth, no complaints. i have friends out of state and shot their bushmasters, etc and all feels the same to me.

Most milspec lowers are pretty much the same, mostly just different in finish.  I put together a double star and it went together really nicely.  Don't worry about it.

I used one to build my dad an M16A1 clone, in Michigan, last spring.  I had no complaints with the quailty of the lower.  I would use doublestar lowers again.

Its much better than the Oly MFR & ICR98 lowers i have used in the past.

Are they making lowers in the A1 pattern, or did you use an A2 lower for the M16A1 build?

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about Doublestar uppers?  I've been seeing them a lot at gun shows lately, and I've thought about purchasing one.  If anybody has any opinions (good or bad) about any other particular uppers, I'd like that too.

Double Star stuff should be good. I love the dragon (or dino?) logo.

Personally, I have couple sets of MEGA Gator lowers and MEGA uppers. I love them most. But Double Star receivers are also on my wish list.
