It passed out of the Senate and is now on to the Assembly. I'm sure most of you read it on Cal guns, this issue isn't over. Don't stop fighting now, keep writing letters and making calls.

This crap is from the same jerkoff that gave us AB50, Paul Koretz!

Here is a copy of my letter (e-mailed) to my reps:

I have read AB352 in its entirety.

I am no lawyer, but I am a long time law enforcement officer.
I know how laws effect us on a local and state level, and I see the sad results everyday.

This law is hap hazard at best, a legal nightmare at worst.
This will do nothing to help law enforcement, in fact, probably will hender us.

If the authors intent was to help law enforcement, and I do not believe it, then this law is a poor example.
I suspect the authors actual interests are really a "back door" way to rid society of what he believes are "evil guns".
If AB352 "Micro stamping" is allowed, no self respecting firearms manufacturer will sell to anyone in California, not even California Law Enforcement.
A recent example of this is Ronnie Barrett - President of Barrett Firearms after the so called .50 cal ban.
Mr. Barrett now refuses to sell to any California Law Enforcement Agency, and rightfully so.
This means no more firearms.   That, is a violation of state and federal law, not to mention the consitutional challenges sure to begin flying if this crap legislation is passed.

The author says AB352 will cost nothing.   Wrong, the state mandated legal expenses inccured to defend this piece of garbage legislation will be enormous.

This bill should not pass or become law.

SgtWhiting, I'm going to borrow most of your words since I find them very easy to agree with.

My Fellow Californians, also beware of AB2714, SB59 and SB1578.  After reading about them, they all make me feel like:

Hey friends,

I doubt that this will pass, yet, if there is anything outsiders can do to help let us know. Many of us know what you all feel and know that this type of insanity has nothing to do with you all or how much you put forth. California has a great grassroots system in place and other states like mine learned alot from it - thankfully...

This is not the first time the state assembly has tried to get this bill through, even though it's got shot down the last time, the anti-gun group in the assembly has long since adopted "Keep plugging it in until it passes" approach. None of us in this state can afford to relax. Should it get shot down this time, they WILL re-introduce it again next year. So, they keep trying, and we keep fighting. That is essentially the "norm" in California gun legislature.

While it seems like an "easy" idea just to replace the anti-gunners by voting in pro gunners, the areas with the largest concentration of these assembly-persons are 1. Anti-gunners, 2. Represent anti-gunner voters, the likes being in Los Angeles areas and San Fransisco areas and surrounding areas. It's not that they represent "most" of the state, they just represent the largest concentrations of moonbat anti-gunners.

we were just talking about this at the range last week as we saw all the brass on the ground... figure all that brass has serial #'s on them... Now someone reloads it and sells it to someone else that uses that brass in a crime.. Go and try to explain that you werent there.

Or how long will it take for criminals to figure how to remove the microstamp?

OR throw a shitload of brass with other markings at the crime scene?

Then again, just buy a brasscatcher... criminals arent fucking stupid.

I just dont understand why they want to put an effort into something that will just cause more crime. What do I mean????? Well, if I were a person who was intent on breaking the law while using a firearm and I knew about this "Micro-Stamping" law that had been put in effect I would be looking to buy or steal a gun to use in the crime. This would cause more criminals to break into houses, cars and businesses to get the gun's. This would cause our LEO's to work harder and any investigations involving the use of the "Stamping" would be hindered due to inaccurate information and leads. All-in-all, we would be wasting LEO's time and taxpayer money. This law would also cause gunmakers to increase prices on all products. It's a lose-lose-lose situation for anyone, even if your not a gun owner.

I wrote my e-mail to my rep. a couple of days ago and added to it that if some law abiding citizen were to have to go through the ordeal of having been falsely arrested and investigated that  I would think that they would most likely start a lawsuit. If they win, it would start a precedent that I don't think cities and law enforcement would want.

UPDATE:

The legislation was defeated last night by a vote of 38 to 34.

I'm relieved, but winning by 3 votes isn't exactly comforting either.

Oh wow, what an update.  I thought it was going to Arnolds desk.

This would have essentially banned all pistols until a reliable technology could be developed, which is never.

I have a feeling that this will be back in another form soon enough.  These douchebags don't have anything better to do.
