CALIFORNIA
The State Senate is now on vacation until August 7, and AB 352, sponsored by Assemblyman Paul Koretz (D-42), and AB 2714, sponsored by Assemblyman Alberto Torrico (D-20), are on hold for a vote until the Senate reconvenes.  AB 352 would require that serial numbers, make, and model numbers be micro-stamped into the interior surface or internal working parts of all handguns produced after a certain date.  AB 2714 would ban the sale of ammunition through the mail or internet.  Please continue to contact your Senator and urge him or her to protect law-abiding gun owners by voting against AB 352 and AB 2714.  For more information on both of these bills, please visit www.calnra.com/.

Here's a wild guess:  harrass/intimidate law abiding gun owners and manufacturers.

fuckem, if the numbers are so small no one will know if it has them or not, plus they will have to grandfather the millions of non bastardized pistols.

fuckem of course, but under this law new guns will either cost two arms and a leg or they won't be available in California.

This kind of crap is why it's imperative that (gag, wretch) the flawed, "RINO" Arnold Schwarzenegger be re-elected Governator in November.

With the exception of the .50 BMG ban he has been rather consistent in vetoing bills (not just gun bills) for which there is no compelling justification.  Anything that costs the state money, as microstamping would, without a clear offsetting benefit, is likely to get his veto.

It's sad that we don't have someone who better watches out for our interests, but Phil Angelides surely would not be our friend.
