I've just come across this whole "off-list" lower issue.  It's kind of a glut of info, and I can't find the answers to a couple of pertinient questions.  If you could either answer them or point me to the right thread, I'll appreciate it!

1)  Are these lowers ONLY legal if you permanently affix the mag? (If yes, I'm not interested)

2) If no, are they still available to purchase, or have I missed out?

I have no need for a pinned mag, but I'd love to have another CA legal lower!

You can still buy the stripped receiver but I wouldnt build it until you have a written letter from the DOJ giving you some direction on how to build without going to jail.  

Dont call the DOJ they will lie to you over the phone, just write a letter and it should be signed by the firearms dictator.
