I went on a short hike on the Harding Trail this afternoon.

Only about 3 miles round trip. It's not the most scenic trail, but a good conditioning hike trail.

I went to "goat shed."

There is a spring further in, a round trip of about 10 miles. If you follow the trail all the way to the top it will take you to the highest point in orange county, but its a 20 mile round trip.

I saw three other hikers and one mountain biker. Only saw one ground squirrel, two dove, some blue jays, lots of coyote scat, deer tracks and mountain lion tracks.

Remember back when you were young and could have run the three miles in, what, about 15 - 20 minutes?  I do.

I remember the race leaders ran a 5 mile XC course in about 25 minutes depending upon the terrain.  Damn, that was a long time ago.  I think my best time was 28 minutes.

Edited to add:  Are those mountian lion tracks or a large dogs tracks?  I hope you were prepared to defend yourself.

I was friends with this marathon runner in school who could run the 27 miles with an average mile time of like 5:12. I was lucky to pull in at 6:30 on a single mile.

Last time I went hicking was up San Gorgonio. My and two of my brothers were able to do the (if I remember right) 27 miles in like 12 hours. It was damn fun and I wish I had time to do more stuff like that.

Those picture make me slightly jealous. How fun was it?
