Every week the Long Beach Press Telegram asks readers to answer a question in the Speakout column. Then they print some of the reader replies in the Saturday paper. Last week they asked if Gray Davis should be recalled?

"Callers favoring recall outnumbered those opposed by a margin of more than two to one."

Here is the column that ran Saturday if anyone's interested in reading some of the responses.

There have been other recall efforts in the past, one over Prop 187, another over SB23 and SB15... but THIS one has alot of momentum behind it. Gray Davis has pissed off just about everyone in the state, so getting 900,000 signatures in a state of 37 million should be much easier this time around.

Actually,  prop 187 was overturned in federal court for violating tenth amendment protections. If only the same rules applied for unconstitutional gun legislation, huh?

As for the Davis recall, all I ask is that we get some decent candidates to vote for if they succeed and force another election.

TJMZ -- where can we sign the petition?

having a booth set up at the local guns shows would make it easier to get sig's.

I heard on the radio today that Feinstein might consider running.  Has anyone else heard this?

i think a lot of dem and repubs are seeing this recall as a very real possibilty, and many from both sides are considering a run.
the dems have been throwing swinestaine name around as the strongest dem possible to win, but ive also heard that she may be coming to the end of her political carreer (lets hope), shes gotta be in or near 70-something years old.

McClintock is a strong progun repub, and Issa appears to be also.

its gonna be an interesting year.

I heard Loretta Sanchez pumping Feinsteins name the other day.  She was born in 1933, so you're right she is 70 or about to be.

Overtaken By Events - the deed is done and the submission deadline was moved up as they had 1.2 million signatures and only needed 800K.
