Like a Champ!

Must have equipment for the Florida hunter.

I have used mine extensively for years, very effective.

The only full proof thing to guard against FL skeeters is to stay indoors

I've had good success with Thermacells, as long as the wind isn't up enough to blow the product out of your area.  On a low wind day or night, these things work fairly well.

They work amazingly well in the Florida swamps!

I won't hunt without one.

Yellow Flies are not deterred from it, but mosquitoes will disappear in around ten minutes of turning it on.

Live in the swamp and nothin' is working.

Mosquito control says costs $50,000 a night to spray and they cannot jam me up wit the Dibrom insecticide
often enough to to do any good at all.

So everytime they do spray it is like blowing $50,000 at the casino.

County needs to disband Mosquito control and put that money into median beautification
for the snowbirds.

Sidewalk crack repair could use a little extra bucks so the joggers don't trip.

Screw yer little electric buzzers and screw a bunch of spray cans.

I have two (primary and backup) along with spare fuel and inserts that never leave my hunting stuff. Never leave home without it!

I use THREE at a time... one strapped to my seat so it hangs below my ass... and two on each side at elbow height...

Some of the swamp areas I hunt are filled with skeeters, it's probably overkill using three but damn I hate sketter bites.

Yeah refilling is easy. I do it all the time. Now as far as the pads. I haven't figured that out yet.  But yeah the butane bottles are easy to refill if you know how.

My Thermacel was effective last Sunday at Picayune Strand and Fakahatchee.
Kept all the mosquitoes out of my truck

Looks like you can pull out the little valve inside the butane bottle and then fill it with a butane refill can.  Search YouTube for the step-by-step.  Looks easy and pretty practical.

After finding out in this thread that you can refill the butane cartridges, I gave it a shot.  Got the anti-refill valve out and reinstalled the main valve, but the butane I use for my cigar lighters doesn't seem to have the correct adapter on it.  The butane leaks out all around the nozzle when I try to refill it.  Has anyone here found a brand of butane that properly fits the Thermacell cartridges to refill them?

I haven't done it yet but the YouTube video I watched the guy used Mag Torch brand because it has multiple tip sizes.  My local Advanced Auto has them in stock (or so their website says).

I ordered some of those ARS 12, I think that's the name, mats from ebay.  If they get here.  I think it was $10 for like 70.
