Why would a liberal county do anything to support a place where conservatives gather? Can------->kicked--------->down the road.

The job fair is next Tuesday at 4pm.
Anybody going, just to poke around and ask questions? |

Talked to someone who went to the job fair as he is looking for a job in retirement...RSO pay was 11 bucks an hour. Unless you live close by you will burn that in gas getting there!
There was also a video posted to the JW Corbitt Facebook page as a drive thru...https://www.facebook.com/147211862045081/videos/355909355309996/ and a few pics from the range. Still looking at last quarter to get the damn thing open as they are still working on the water issues. |

Thanks for the update, I'd bet good money it's not opened in 2019.

If nothing else, because they can't get a non=felon with NRA RO certification to work for 11.00/hour - lol. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

It doesn't appear that the powers that be want to see that shooting range completed any time soon, if at all.

Building the pyramids took less time............. Seriously, the Empire State building was build in way less time

It’s a democratic stronghold, just like broward and Miami. They aren’t going to stop/prevent it, but are trying to kill it with a thousand cuts.
If/when it opens, the fun will begin. Lots of homes out that way and bullets have a tendency to travel. Some democratic donor will find ‘bullet holes’ in his/her/it house and the legal challenges will be in.....sad. |

Latest update , just in:
Sept. 9, 2019 Dear Shooting Sports Enthusiast, The FWC hosted a job fair at the Palm Beach Shooting Sports Complex on July 16, and we want to thank everyone who participated in that event. We’re pleased to announce Brian O’Connor, who has an impressive resume in service industry management, will serve as the facility’s general manager. Brian will start Sept. 11, and his first task is to assemble a team of staff and volunteers to operate the facility. Palm Beach County has granted a stocking permit enabling staff to ready the buildings for public use. The FWC plans to open the 100-yard rifle and handgun ranges to the public for weekend use as soon as the construction of the water plant is completed and a certificate of occupancy is obtained for the buildings. When we have a firm date for allowing weekend use of the 100-yard-rifle and handgun ranges, an announcement will be sent to everyone who has signed up to receive email updates. Those interested in receiving email updates about the Palm Beach Shooting Sports Complex should contact [email protected]. Construction on the 200- and 300-yard shooting lines and overhead baffling is ongoing. Once these components are completed, all rifle and handgun ranges will open for daily operations Thursday through Monday. In addition, construction of trap and skeet fields is progressing. The projected timeline for completing them is by the end of the year. When finished, this state-of-the-art facility will safely support the needs of hunters, hunter safety students, and target shooters. The complex, one of the largest shooting sports facilities in Florida, will meet growing demand for target shooting opportunities with five rifle and handgun ranges; five Olympic trap fields; six American trap fields; nine skeet fields; and a 15-station sporting clays course. This project is supported by funding from the Wildlife Restoration program, which brings funding to Florida from the sporting arms and archery industries and the people of Florida who participate in those activities. Additional support and funding for the Palm Beach County Shooting Sports Park are provided by Palm Beach County, National Rifle Association, Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida, and South Florida Water Management District. The facility is located at Seminole Pratt Whitney Road – toward the main entrance to J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area and Everglades Youth Conservation Center Camp. |

is Brian the guy that used to be head range officer at Okeechobee shooting sports?
|
|
The only RO I know from Okeechobee shooting sports is George, he's great.
|
|
Brian is the guy who used to run the special events like 2 gun. He was well liked and respected. George is GTG also.

Went by range yesterday. Work is still ongoing but progressing. Footings for 2 long range overhead roofs are in place, steel and wood beams on site. Skeet field buildings are nearing completion. Water is in place with what looks like an outdoor shower? Not sure why. A FWC worker that was mowing grass with a HUGH robotic mower mentioned that he thought pistol and rifle part would open in October, I joked October next year and he laughed but said this year. Also mentioned that the road coming in would be paved! Asked if I knew anyone in PB politics. Took photos but just cannot seem to get them posted even though I did it before. Just get a icon for picture, so here is link to OneDrive folder with them:

Bro, thanks for taking the time to head out there and snap these shots for us!
Its a miracle the wood hasn't started to rot at the 100! |
|
The whole thing just shows how full of shit they are. After two years they said we need the buildings to open and water, well they have both now and still not open. What bullshit. Also i said 2.5 years ago they could use a trailer to check in and port o lets to open. Some one said they couldn't or wouldn't use port o lets but there are a bunch of them on the job site of course. Total fraudulent shitshow .
Oh well the huge beams they are using for the roofs will be hurricane proof for sure so at least they got that right. |

The lack of progress is intentional and anyone who's ever been involved in the construction industry recognizes this B.S. as the complete and total farce it is.
|
|
|
Agree, but one does not have to be in the construction industry to see through the farce it is
|
|
Do you think this range is gonna give me shit for shooting an AR Pistol?
