Y'all....been reading the Florida Hometown for awhile now as I will be moving to Melbourne from Virginia....I visit and carry in FL, read the laws etc, seem reasonable state...I guess at some level, I am trading snow and traffic for snakes and mosquitoes....but further from DC so all good there....Do any of y'all CC with a snake round?  If you run into a snake, a rattler, water moccasin etc, do you avoid, shoot it....will be with dog, grandkids...obviously depends where you are, but with a Glock, not sure that shot round is a good option...but not keen on getting a .45 carry revolver....I guess I could get flamed for this, but when I was in Pensacola in flight school, I did manage to get bitten....go figure.

I've got plenty of snakes where I live including venomous species,  but never found any need to CCW with any snake loads.

CCW is for protection against criminal assailants IMO.

Yeah, just leave them alone; unless they are by your house (and venomous). Then get what you need.

Generally, a knife and a good boot or stick is all that is required. I did have to waste a single .45 round from my G21 on a good sized moccasin because of his bad attitude and only having a knife.

The place is 400 acres where I spend a bunch of time and is frequented by children, old folks and such - so every poisonous snake is killed. If I'm just wondering around the swamps, they get a pass. I have found a large black racer in the dryer motor - twice in the last 4 months - but the fan took care of them!

In the city, the worse I came across is black racers. Messing around in the woods, I am in their territory and I will try my best not to trespass on their property. Venomous snakes on my parent’s property in the garden or around house gets shot.

Use a garden hoe. It puts a good distance between you and the serpent, and if you touch up the edge a little bit, it will cut clean right through. This always was the best answer when I lived in the boonies.

No loud booms to scare people into calling the cops. It's quick and easy, and you'll save your hearing for more serious 2-legged vermin.

When it's not on my property, I just stamp my feet a cause a ruckus to make them go away.

Keep your CCW loaded for 2-legged snakes; if you ever have to shoot a no-legged snake, the round will work for that as well.
