Here's the track just in case http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/AT14/refresh/AL1416W5+gif/115831W_sm.gif I have not seen an "M" on a track map for a long time. 111 mph +. The cone covers SE FL. This is worth watching. If you have put off preparing this might be a reminder. Or it could be just a rain event. |

Not likely an issue for us from what I just viewed as a high pressure system is in place to help steer it off our coast. Matthew also is a relatively small storm with H winds that only span a 30 mile area. But one should never take the eye off the ball... Guess you don't read the fine print. It is important to remind users that average NHC track forecast errors are around 175 miles at day 4 and 230 miles at day 5. Therefore, it is too soon to rule out possible hurricane impacts from Matthew in Florida. Lot of this goes over my head but............. http://www.tropicaltidbits.com/ |

It's sad to think about how many of them will likely lose their lives even if it turns out to be only a rain event for them. |

Meh..... it sucks but not much we can do except either spend our treasure to build them suitable housing or we import them all to the US. Quoted:

And Miami-JBT for the correct answer. Ask me how many we imported last time, I know MCO and Sanford took in over 15k. And those are just the numbers I was privy to. Never let a good crisis go to waste or a chance to get voters in before an election |

Oh it's going move north, the east/west jog is what will keep us on our seats.

Quoted: West where? Models this morning have it likely passing east of the Bahamas and heading towards N Carolina. We should know more in a couple days. Quoted: Quoted: It's gonna move west. New models have it shifting ever so slightly more west every few hours, so far...

Just moved into a new place, how long does it take to buy renters insurance? Is it too late? Not positive, but I think they can sell you a policy until a hurricane warning (maybe watch) is actually issued for your area. As of 5 pm there are no official watches or warnings for Florida. If you are serious I would be on the phone first thing in the morning. |

I could get a policy online tonight and it would start tomorrow, but it wouldn't cover flood which is my main concern, my building has impact windows and shutters, just worried about water coming under the door. I'm a few hundred yards from the intracoastal. |

You need to talk to a licensed agent in your area that can get you the coverage you need. If you are interested in renters insurance and you can get it tonght, it may be something you want to do while you can. Just a thought. |
