Acording to the antis themselves, FL rates a D- for gun control as of 2012.
Hopefully that score will continue to plummet. The gun death rates are likely totals instead of per capita and likely include suicides as such things tend to display results favorable to their cause. The Tourist and Development lobbies don't want open carry and they own the politicians in Tallahassee of both parties. That is why it didn't get passed a couple of years ago. |

With "Constitutional Carry" gaining traction and open carry being the norm in most states, I'm hopeful that it'll just be a matter of time.
It would seem that S Florida would be the impedance to the above. N FL has southern virtues for the most part. The touristy attractions in FL can impose their own damn rules on their property, so their concerns should have no bearing. This map on Wikipedia is pretty cool:
