I knew her... good people, helped us out anytime she could. Prayers for all... Trooper Richard I was there helping merge the lanes down so FHP could do thier investigaiton. I hated every minute of being there. Both of them, Trooper and Tow Truck driver where well known and liked. I really wish people would not take pictures of stuff like that while driving. Pretty sick. I hear that the third guy hit has died as well. The story is a little hard to figure out, but it does look like just plain vanilla 'not paying attention' was the cause. Form my experience with these things, as I too was almost hit the VERY SAME WAY several years ago ON I-75 about 10 miles south of this incident's location... Initial crash was under control and moved off to the side. I would think someone coming up on the crash slowed down excessively or someone suddenly changed lanes... which ever, causing a chain reaction of rapidly slowing vehicles. Along comes the truck NOT paying attention and suddenly is faced with smashing in to the back of the slowed/stopped traffic or swerving off the roadway... he chose the latter apparently NOT knowing where the fuck he was going to end up... from what I understand, he slipped between the wrecker and guardrail striking those present at considerable speed. NOT SAYING THIS IS WHAT HAPPEEND, just a likely possibility... |

It happens all the time. We have had many Fire Apparatus hit in Brevard County.
People see what they expect to see, and are focused on getting where they are going. They never expect to see a vehicle stopped on the interstate, and it just doesn't click for them. And this is the result. |
