What he said!  I see those snakes every day or two.  They're generally easy to get along with, and cause no harm.

ETA: they certainly do get your heart rate up, though, don't they?  They look just enough like a copperhead to freak me out every time I see them.

Agreed, there are usually two of them so if you spot one, look around for a second. They won't mess with you, just don't step on them. Picking them up should be left to someone with experience.

Hard to tell - the head size/shape is hard to see in this picture.

By the way, you might have been on ARFCOM too long when you keep thinking that rock in the bottom right is someone's toe

It's a Bushmaster, most venom in one strike than any other snake. Not found in N. America (YET)
