Lawful Concealed Carry (LCC) meets the State of Florida requirements to apply for a Concealed Weapons Permit and exceeds anything offered at the local gun show. LCC covers, in depth, Florida law concerning carrying a concealed firearm and lawful use of force. Other subject matter includes; firearms safety, surviving a law enforcement encounter, what to do after using deadly force, mental preparedness & conditioning and a brief discussion about firearm and caliber selection. This is not a shooting course; experienced students will fire 10 rounds during the firearms proficiency; inexperienced students may fire a little more.
This class is instructed by Frank Mays; an active duty law enforcement officer and State of Florida certified Firearms Instructor. The class runs 6 - 8 hours depending on class size and class involvement. Class begins at 10:00 AM at the Red Dot Shooting Center Training Room. Red Dot is located at 375 Richard Road Rockledge, FL. Students will spend about 5 hours in the classroom and then move approximately 1 mile away to conduct the firearms proficiency portion. Students should come prepared to learn and ask questions.
