Sounds like fighting words. The struggle is far from over. Its starting to feel a lot like a chess move by Gun Control Advocates. The best way to make something ridiculous (Like capacity limits and back ground checks on private sales) sound sensible is to pair it with something even more ridiculous (like the AWB)... that way the former is seen as a compromise while the latter takes the brunt of the opposition. Man, these liberals are getting smarter!

| Not dead! Just not in the bill, FOR THE MOMENT! But the bill is still alive and there's no telling what mischief might be included in it. AND the AWB can be added back in at a moments notice! If something like another school shooting were to happen while the bill is on the floor, an AWB can be added by amendment and the bill voted on and passed before any of us were aware of it. So keep up the pressure on your Congress Critters! |

The OP's statement is BS. This fight isn't over, it hasn't even started yet. It will never be over, our enemies will never quite trying, they are fanatics set on getting their way and frankly, they are winning the PR war. A whole generation of folks are being taught that guns are evil. We better start thinking long term, or we will lose this war sooner or later.
OP, how many times have back door, middle of the night, shenanigans been used to pass legislation people don't want. I can't count that high!!! Does anyone remember how the FA ban was passed in 86', middle of the night by a voice vote that clearly wasn't in favor of the ban? Can we trust congress? Not now, not ever!!!! Rant over

The latest news is a victory. It doesn't mean the battle is over and no one ever said that. So you guys can drop the tough guy attitudes. No one is disagreeing with you. Yes we all know thy are going to come back with something else. Duh.
The fact that the Dems can't get one together in their own party with a Dem president is a good sign. Take it for what it's worth. A small victory for now. It could have been a lot worse and put through in the middle of the night like Obamacare and the New York bill but it wasn't.

It's never over. There's 50 gun control bills that have been introduced in the Florida House and Senate. Most will die in committee the rest will probably be voted down but it's better safe than sorry. Contact your local state representatives.

It is the furthest thing from being dead. Feinstein was on CNN today saying how the AWB 'will' pass on its own after she gets help from the president. Biden flew out to NY to meet with Bloomberg this week to see how they could twist arms to get the votes they need for the AWB to pass using Bloomberg's billions and media influence...same way Bloomberg did with Colorado. Anyone who thinks the AWB is dead is simply saying that because that's what they 'want' to believe, AWB passed committee and it WILL get a vote.
