I'm sick of the media playing sound bites over and over again of Gabby Giffords' speech, and the statement by the young man's father from CT "the 2nd ammendment right does not come before my son's right to live."
I'm sorry for your loss Sir, but you are wrong. Your son's right to live is defended by the existence of the 2nd ammendment, and the thousands of American's in history that fought and died to provide us with ALL of our rights. The list of rights were compiled together into the "BILL" of Rights for a reason. They are not listed in order of importance, and one can't exist without the other. You first have to "live free" (1st Ammendment) before you can defend that right (2nd Ammendment). If you give up the 2nd, you lose the 1st. End of rant.... |
