This time I suggest we have a theme!!!! We have had woodstock shoots, full auto, behind the iron curtain, etc.
The usual routine with a catch, but it's an all rimfire night!!!! The cheap bastard in me appears. Be it rifle, pistol, or FA, gotta be rimfire unless you're a rich as Croesus and can afford to burn your stash. And you are of course still welcome Travis To sweeten the pot I suggest we hold a shoot off for 10 yard pistol (no optics) and 25 rifle (unsupported with/out optics) on 1" stickies. $5 buy in. Winner take all, DFL owes a pitcher of draft/or if they are on the wagon an app @ dinner. I would also like to offer up a brief time @ dinner for Travis to update & enlist the crew in his documentary project. We all are busy but have a stake in this. I suggest March 1st. Please sound off...... |

I'm in! M16, MP5, handguns and bolts all in 22 here. Look forward to catching up, all. Good idea skipping snowbird February! I have officially parked my car and just ride my bike everywhere now. I'm not sure if I'm safer on the sidewalk than I was on the road, but I get where I need to go faster!
It's funny - I've been hitting shoot straight during the week whenever I'm out. I guess all this talk of gun bans has made me want to shoot more . They remember us and know where we're from. Somebody there made a comment about watching the forums here now, which was funny. I will say they roll out the red carpet whenever I show up. I just might have had a film crew there on a Friday night taking up multiple lanes while I did mag dumps on full auto and some light training/demos. Those guys never blinked. Their "no cameras" policy went right out the window, which was funny. I have to tell you - I dreaded selling my range, because I thought I would be stuck using some FUDD place with 1 round every 5 seconds and nothing with black furniture. I'm really happy with Shoot Straight so far!!
Look forward to catching up in a few weeks all...... - Travis |

I have a dedicated upper and I would like to get running M16 as well and a BlackDog loader for speedy loads. I will bring a 30 cal can of 22 We'll try the dedicated upper, but keep in mind that .22lr in FA is a finicky venture. I have lube, springs, 2 sets of bounce weights to try and 3 difference ammo selections. Perhaps a blind squirrel will get a nut. |

Ok, we are less that a week out so this means that we need to take final roll call so I can get an accurate reservation for chow and let SS know we are coming to play.
Please remember the ground rules from last time. This is a gathering for us to have fun. Shoot Straight has always treated us well but with the influx of novice shooters they have to play to the lowest common denominator when it comes to safety. That means that some rules that we may feel are a bit draconian are in place not to piss us off but keep us safe from people that have no trigger or muzzle discipline. In the past, they have expressed their appreciation for our professionalism and our extra sets of eyes with regard to safety. Let's keep them inviting us back Due to the cost of ammo we all will pack light with 22LR for the sake of cost. Any other caliber is welcome but the market dictates we will not scorn those with rimfire this time Enough political CYA - who's in? FLchuck + @ least 1 |

Regardless of the sick ones and no-shows we had a great time. There were 5 of us in total. Once again, Shoot Straight went out of their way to accomodate us. They gave us a discounted price on the range, set aside and let us buy all the .223 ammo we wanted for range use (most of their ammo has a 3 or so box maximum) and even had 4 lanes reserved for us. .22 stuff was fun as usual, And i think my M16 barrel is officially almost worn out - the majority of the rounds keyhole in.....

Yep, I had a great time for my first shoot since returning to the Gunshine state. Firing Dan's M-16 in the FUN position never get's old.
Great to see some of the old crowd again. Let's schedule the next camp and shoot before the weather starts to turn too warm. |

I always see the threads and get excited then something ALWAYS comes up. |
