| Looking for info on the best way to paint some of the stamping on my lower. I'm guessing this is done as custom work by some based on the pics I've seen. Any ideas or places to get it done in Jax would be appreciated. I'm probably capable of doing it myself once I learn how though. |

Wow! I have to get the Ross guide to painting the AR-15 lower. What a great idea ugh? where do I get it? Quoted:

Quoted: Do you spread it over the stamping and then squeegy it off the surface allowing the paint/ink to settle in the grooves? I want it to look uniform, but I don't know if the paint/ink will settle on the surface and stain it. http://www.engraverssolutions.com/PDFs/tips&tricks-color_filling.pdf |
| I am going to try a new thing which i havent read about and it might last a little longer, which is epoxy resin and color, is used in lapels pins, same thing. Also Testors paint with an insulin needle will give you more paint inside engraving and also less mess!! |

I used testors paint....same stuff Spikes uses.
I dip a tooth pick into the paint and then into the engraving. It takes many dips as your basically putting a drop at a time in it, but it comes out pretty nice looking. Let it set up and wipe with mineral spirits....if you even need to. If you are careful putting the paint in, you may not even get any outside of the engraving. Also, don't try to totally fill in the engraving flush with receiver. Just enough to get a layer of paint on. |
