Who made the trip and attended today? I thought I was in the wrong place, I forgot the concert was tonight. Made for some favorable viewing in the parking lot though. Country concerts always bring out the best of the best.
As for the show. I didn't see anything I couldn't live without. Prices were fair in some places, exorbitantly high in others. Plenty of cheap Chinese AR accessories though. And some deals on ammo, some I thought was too high. But there were folks carrying it out by the armful. More power to the sellers. If you attended, what were your thoughts? Anyone headed to Fort Lauderdale next week? |

was gonna go until a flood that would have scared Noah back to his ark kicked up here in Jupiter..
we got about 3.8 inches according to my rain gauge in 3 hours However That didn't stop the wife from dragging me off to the PBG mall to go school shopping for the kids instead |

I got there early when the doors opened and stayed for a good part of the day.
Ammo prices were decent at Fine Line Ammo and Rareammo.com. And ammunition was in great supply. The show became incredibly crowded by 11:00 when I left the parking lot was as full as I have ever seen it, the show was jammed packed it was hard to walk the isles. Lots of private sellers were walking the isles and there are still some tables rented out to private sellers/traders as well some of whom had interesting stuff and were agreeable to talk with. My favorite vendor, The Florida Gun Exchange had about one third of their table empty and a very poor section. Examples of pistols that I had purchased from them at previous gunshots had their prices jacked up hundreds of dollars it was very surprising to me to see them as, or even more, expensive than other vendors at the show. I usually attend the show to buy something from them but this time they were a huge disappointment, maybe they expect the gunshow prices to reflect the cost of their fancy new brick and mortar showroom. Believer or not, someof the best deals were to be had at Shoot Straight, huge selection including a nice choice of high end 1911s including Brown, Nighthawk Custom, Baer, and Wilson Combat. They even had a fully engraved Brown Signature Edition. If you are into high end 1911s and don't want to wait for one to be built for you check them out, they had quite a few out on their tables. ARs and other types of black rifles and accessories were in huge supply at so-so prices; not the best prices, but not "panic buying" proces either. Some guy was selling used GI magazines at five bucks apiece and he was doing a brisk business. They no longer have their sign outside that says no concealed weapons and no private sales except to holders of concealed weapons licenses. The latest sign simply says that all guns, including concealed weapons, being brought into the show need to be unloaded and presented to their people at the door in order that tie wraps be installed by show personnel. Overall; for the most part gun prices were UP significantly and if you go to the show as I do, to pick up a gun at a great price from Florida Gun Exchange.......don't bother. |
