Hello Miami Fishermen er uh Fisherpersons,
I will be in Miami May 4th through the 8th for the Volvo Ocean Race festivities and would like to do a day of fishing while I'm there. I need recommendations for a fishing charter. Most charters have several boats and rates so, I think, I just need the names of the 2 or 3 best charters there. Or at least who to stay away from. Any help would be much appreciated. Anybody else dig sailing? Thanks all! |

I had an awesome time. I fished a half day with Capt Brett and first mate Mark. (ok, I don't really know if 1st mate is the right terminology.) I was the only one on the boat and they did keep me busy.
At one point we had 2 Black Fin on the lines so I yanked one in right after the other. While the Tuna was on I missed an opportunity for a Sail Fin because it swam under the boat and Mark had to cut the line. Dang I wanted that one. I fought 3 of these Greater Amberjack but only brought 2 into the boat. 
This commercial fisherman was handlining in the Amberjacks. He must have looked like Popeye under his jacket. 
I also caught 2 nice sized Blackfin Tuna and 1 nice Bonita, didn't get a pic of the Bonita.

| Glad you had a good time. Ray is a class act. I learned a lot of what I know about kite fishing from him. Its too bad the sailfish tournaments have gone away from the observer system to video. I learned so much from volunteering and being on those boats during tournament season. |
