I've got two five pound kegs of Alliant Reloder 7 powder from when I was actively playing with cast bullets (approx 28 gr is good for almost any .30 cal round with casr).
I looked up loads in my books and saw that there are several listings for Rel 7 with 55 gr in .223. Manuals had no comment about use in AR s so I don't know if it would work the gas system ok.
Anyone have any experience with Rel 7 in the AR?   I's really like to use up this powder before it goes bad (it's already 15 yr old at least)
Thanks!

Thank you.
Looks like the Rel 7 loads were tested in an AR so that answers my question.  Hmm - at approx 20 gr per load - I guess I'd better pick ups fome more bullets and brass and primers!
