| Are they any good? Not looking for anything fancy just a 308 bolt action or a 30-30 lever I can leave in the cabin up north. Anyone have any good or bad experience purchasing from them? |

The guns are the same as any other place selling Marlins or Remington's . The problem with a Walmart gun purchase is :
#1. Finding someone to help you . 2. Finding someone who knows how to sell a gun . The last time I bought one from them I was there over 1 1/2 hours . I had to show the guy how to do the paper work . He had no clue . And then the kid manager comes along and really mucks it up . He told the employee to do a background check call in and I told him we already did it but he insisted on another one while he stood there . I said fine, but I'm only paying for one background check . A real cluster fuck . Good luck . |

I remember when 7 11's sold ammo over the counter.
I also remember we had a rifle club in middle school and brought our 22's to school to be stored and after class all go to the range in the back of a pick up truck I remember when we had a president who was a natural born citizen of the US I remember going to school and having a morning prayer and saying the pledge of allegiance |

Bought 3 10/22s from them over the past 5 years, none in the last two.
You could not buy ammo for the same rifle at the same time. Tha manager had to carry the rifle out to the store front door and a few feet into the parking lot. Me and the oldtimer at the sports desk that filled out the paper work ( he was gold) had a big laugh about the procedeure. One was a wally world SS 20 inch special that shoots like a sling shot for targets shooting, I will fix that. Almost all in the Tampa area dropped firearms totally. |

The managers probably got tired of having to maintain and FFL for nothing extra. |
| sports authority used to sell them as well, but lost their balls or something as well. Last kmart i was at i think still had rifles but that was awhile ago. so maybe its no more, cause ive not seen any at the local walmarts anymore either. i doubt if there is no display they dont sell them at that store, or is there some special request to see them. Dick's in west palm sells rifles not sure what else since ive only been on the website. |

I was in the market for a new 9mm, went in there one day and the gun counter was replaced by fishing poles. I asked the guy and he said no more guns. |
| Definitely varies from store to store. In Flemming Island the Walmart sells guns behind the counter and will even pull out their catalog to show what they don't have behind there, but the new one they put between Orange Park and Middleburg doesn't sell anything but air guns and ammunition to my knowledge. The prices always seem pretty reasonable, just be weary of the guy behind the counter, especially if he's new... |

My brother bought his Taurus .38 snubbie at Walmart many moons ago, I got my first shotgun @ Roses Department Store for $35. I bought my first deer rifle, a surplus Turkish Mauser in 8mm there too for $40. Montgomery Wards and Sears both sold guns and everybody sold ammo.Think JC higgins was the Wards Line.....shoot I remember when there was no such thing as a Walmart in Florida, and Kmart had a full line of guns and hunting gear. I must be old |
| The Super Walmart in Florida city sells long guns and ammo for you Dade county people. I'm going to pick up a Cricket for my son soon from that store. The Walmart in Kendall sells ammo but the selection is not always great. I bought my first rifle when I turned 18 at Kmart in 1991 in Miami. It was a Daisy .22 cal. |

In the State of Florida Walmart went to the rule of only 1 store per County will sell firearms. I bought my 1st shotgun-Mossberg 500 from them for $108 out the door. If that is true then I guess the Walmart just east of 441 on Belvedere (I think that is the road on the north side of the fairgrounds) is the one in Palm Beach. They have a couple of the vertical, circular displays with shotguns - semi and pump, plus some other stuff. None of the ones in Lake Worth, Boynton or Delray have them that I have seen - although they carry ammo. |

If it's true, it must have just happened. |
