Hey guys here's a website that contains way TOO MUCH personal information available to anyone, and for a minimal fee even more information is available. age address phone number home value home details annual income who lives in the house and EVEN a street picture of your home If you find your information on SPOKEO.COM, You can delete your profile. Copy the URL on your page In the lower right hand corner go to PRIVACY copy the URL into the delete box you will get a confirmation email to your email |

Given the fact that I am listed as single, living in a $400k home, my sign is wrong, and it's not my picture, amongst other things, it does not bother me nearly as much as Zabasearch, which is far too accurate for my tastes regarding my information.
Sadly, this is another symptom of the information age and the inherent dangers in the advancement of data aggregation at a far faster pace then either legislation or good sense. My bet is that there will be many more of these sites in the near future. |

Based on the confirmation e-mail they sent, I think this is phishing for live e-mail addresses. Thats why I just leave it... this site is just one of thousands that show the same info. You confirm your email to them, they take your info off their site and sell it along with your confirmed email to another.... |

These sites usually get your information from the phone book or an online phonebook like white pages.com or google phone book. When i moved into my new place, i called and removed my name from the phonebook and a lot of information went away online. Then, did a google search on my name which showed a map to my house and a satt photo (from google maps), i deleted that and never saw anything again.
Im a PI part time in FL and usually these websites like this just use basic information (like i said about the phonebook) and throw it all over the place, but doing searches on your self can find them and then you just delete them. The only thing on that website that was interesting was the IP address's associated to emails (when you search an email), that could be a problem if that gets out into the public, not like you cant find someones IP but that is a good piece of information to have if you are the wrong type of person. |

Also, all you are really doing other than providing them with your e-mail address but is verifying that the information is actually correct. |

Was going to post on this site, but found this thread. Here's a news story I found on them. http://www.cbs47.tv/mostpopular/story/New-Website-Sparks-Privacy-Concerns/jX-AEqXhn0Sk26UIrtWvhQ.cspx |

You all better call Yellow Book and the phone company to get your info out of phone books too.
