I plan to be in the Orlando area for a surgery on my leg and wonder if anyone can sugest a range to go to.  I have a buddy I game with that is pretty much a non shooter so I would like to let him try my XD among others.  I will mainly be shooting the XD but I am thinking of taking my Mosin or Mossberg as well so a place to shoot either of those while not required might be nice.  I will be staying in the Windermere area till my surgery but I am not sure where my buddy lives but i think it is in the airport area.

We have Shoot Straight and East Orange Shooting Sports.

For pistol, I prefer the Shoot Straight in Casselberry.  If you want to shoot rifle at all, I think the Shoot Straight in Apopka is the only indoor range that will allow it –– someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You could buy a membership to the Central Florida Rifle & Pistol Club and shoot out to 300m. Or if your feeling kinky come down to Lakeland to Tenoroc.

Going to have tough time with the rifle or shotgun. The only rifle range in the greater Orlando area that is open to non-members is Shoot Straight. It is indoors and 25 meters.

For pistol I would recommend East Orange Shooting Sports. It is $9.95 per person to shoot all day. Shoot in the am, go have lunch, come back in the pm and shoot again. Pistol rental is $9. That includes all of the pistols on their rental wall. Try a Sig 226 in 9mm and swap it out for a HK USP Comapct in .40 and swap it out for a S&W M&P in .45, etc, etc. All for $9. A great way to let someone who is new try a variety of guns. You can shoot your own ammo in your own guns, they ask that you shoot their ammo in their guns.

Overall a nice range and nice guys. When I was new to guns, less then 3 years ago, this is the shop that earned and has kept my business.
