Last week i GD , I had a very weak rant, more like a complaining session stating I was bored with my job.
Trust me, I am happy to have a job and meant no disrespect to those who are unemployed. Well Friday I had to take a personal day because my wife went out of town for training, and my sales team from the west coast of Florida had to go over to our home office in Miami for the start of the year sales meeting. I stayed in town and worked since I had things to do anyways and the kids were in school. About noon I get 3 text messages congratulating me. I won a 5 day trip to Tahoe in March all expenses paid + spending money. This is a yearly sales competition and trip that I gave up on a few years ago. The top 4 out of 200 that sell the most of certain wines from July-December win the trip. Well every year someone in Miami drops 250 cases the last week to one of their resorts and leapfrogs me. I got a call Dec. 15th saying I was in 4th place with enough points ahead to have it locked up. They went for more distribution this year instead of total cases. Meaning they would rather have you sell 1 case to 50 accounts than 50 cases to 1 account. I had just been doing my job and hitting monthly goals and accumulating a ton of points. I ended up in 3rd place in a program I honestly never tracked. That made me feel a lot better going into the weekend. Today is back to the grind though until March 18th when I fly out solo.(No spousal unit gets to go) Natron |
