Thanks. |

theres a charter on key west, that docks right in front of a resort...they take you out for about 4 hours for 50$, you catch fish, they skin them at the dock, the resort cooks them by the pool...
very nice....hit up the night life in key west, and theres also a public spot to snorkel on the eastern side of the island...hmm visit hogs breath, sloppy joes, and give the drunk guy with the joker hat a dollar for a beer and hell tell you a cool dirty joke....margarittaville sucked...sorry...the margarittas cost to much and were weak... just the other lil shops are cool....also at that charter, they through the scraps in the water and you can watch the huge tarpin come up....aside from all that me and the rest of the bachelor party was drunk off our ass... |

Lots to do. If your into diving check out the Diving Museum in Islamorada @MM82. Remember everything down here is referred to by MM (mile marker) for directions.
Marathon area lots to do. Dolphin Research Center, Fishing Party boat "Marathon Lady", dive/snorkel @ Abyss Dive Center, Crane Point Hammock, etc. Great restaurant...best in my opinion in the Keys. Square Grouper on Cudjoe Key MM22. Hope that helps. Drop me a PM if you need specifics. Happy trails, Jerry |

Really? I thought it was very over rated at best. My fish was OK, and the servers literally try to get you in and out as fast as possible, like they were on a timer. Also, I'd stay away from the hideout too, at least for breakfast. Sadly, I think the best food I've had in Key Largo is Tower of Pizza. I really enjoyed Fogarty's restaurant attached to the Flying Monkey(great adult slurpees) in KW as well as Kermit's for pie. |

google Keywest cams there is a place where it says streaming cams click on it You get Robbies tarpon feeding cam (stop and feed the fish really unbelievable) then their is the Hogs Breath cam (click on streaming again) a bar cam, a raw bar cam, and a stage cam. they have live entertainment at night. Also there is many different keys cams live streaming. Oh there is a main street cam that some people do not know they are standing under (it has live sound also) Hey it is a place to stare from home; enjoy it Quoted:

you cannot go wrong in the keys buddy !
make sure that these provisions are with ya and you should be squared away: .45 or equal prevention measures...... liquor flask liqour closest in taste to rubbing alcohol beer cigs if ya smoke Alcohol tolerance Remember that for every single holiday in Florida tourists come to Miami and south beach BUT we Floridians go to the keys. You are lucky in that there are plenty of events in miami to choose from as well if you absolutely cant find happiness in the keys. P.s. You never spoke of your music preferences and/or hobbies. I only ask because it would help us help you |

Kermit's for pie
Yes chocolate cover key lime pie I enjoyed eating at Guy Harvey's and really enjoyed the nachos at Margaritaville, one order will be enough for two people. I recommend taking one of the sunset cruises also. OP where are you staying in Cayo Hueso? We are staying in the Hilton Key Largo resort. Thanks for all the info guys. Back story is my wife has cancer which is likely going to be terminal. So I am trying to do some things she has wanted to do. And likely we will not be able to do anything too active like snorkling etc. |

Sounds like you are not staying a night in Key West? It is close to a 2.5 hour drive from Key Largo to Key west. That could put a damper on the time you spend in KW. I hope you both have a good time and a safe trip. |

My wife and I stayed there last year for our anniversary. Nice rooms, kind of away from all the business of Key Largo (2 miles south), but that's what we like. The beach is on the smaller size, but it has a lot of chairs. They also have PWC and hobie cat rentals right at the hotel beach. We didn't eat in the dining room as we ate in town. Don't miss John Pennekamp, even if its only the glass bottom boat tour. Supposed to be a decent Italian restaurant just south of there in Tavernier, but we never made it there. You should definitely check out airboat rides either in the glades or up here on the St Johns and see the real Florida, gators and all, if you get a chance. Sorry to hear about your wife, but it sounds like you're trying to make the best of a bad situation. |

Quoted: Thanks for all the info guys. I think I will see about a night or two in Key West. I know it's a haul from Largo. Some sun and beach will be good for her. I feel it would be best to do that. Parking is hard to get there. Having a hotel room solves that problem. You can and I suggest that you do buy a pass for the trolley. The tour is informative, relaxing and it will drop you off and pick you up at stops all over the Island. |

take a boat out to the Dry Tortugas, great fort to tour and also some great snorkeling.
i also recommend a sunset cruise. visit Hemingways house. Don't bother renting a car down there.Everything is in walking distance and there's nowhere to park anyway.
DEFINETLY GO BY THE KINOS SANDLE (FACTORY) SHOP AND GET SOME GREAT DEALS ON THEIR SANDLES!! THEY ARE VERY CORMFORTABLE AND RUGGED AND CHEAP!! |
