| I was thinking about taking Bushido's Urban Survival course in Feb. I was wondering if anyone here has taken it and what they thought of it? |

There are better alternatives when it comes to spending money for that kind of stuff IMO. I'm not sure if ATACORION has taken the course or not, but I have. I found the course to be very enjoyable. There are not many opportunities to grab all your gear (including firearms) and run through different types of drills. Wade and his associate instructors are knowledgeable and capable. The only downside to this class is the length of time (it really could be a 5-day course). But, I and all the others who took the class had a blast. If you've got a free weekend, I'd say to take it. |
| Magpul Dynamics to name one uhh Pat Rogers courses also come to mind. Both top notch. I dont mean to hate on Bushido Tactical but I was/am not to impressed by there methods. I haven't taken any of there classes per say but I have watched a few of them at some ranges last year. DO what you want its your money but I would spend mine else where. |

I've been fortunate enough to take Carbine and Handgun classes with Magpul last year as well as classes at the SIG-Sauer Academy, Seattle Firearms Academy, and Bushido Tactical. I've always taken away something from all these classes that I have attended. Magpul's Chris Costa is a terrific instructor, and I would take a class with him anytime. Then again, I also do enjoy Wade Rorich's method of delivery and have had the opportunity to take two Carbine classes with Bushido Tactical last year, and am already signed up for his Handgun 1 class in Orlando in 2 weeks. I've not had the benefit of taking Bushido's Specialized Urban Survival Readiness (SUSR) class, and it appears that this class is the topic of discussion here. I don't think Magpul or Pat Rogers offers anything equivalent. The SUSR class is NOT a Carbine or a Handgun class. I have spoken to several students who have taken this SUSR class and all of them enjoyed it immensely. One thing I found when I attended Bushido Tactical classes is the number of students who are "repeat customers" - that is, people who have taken classes with Wade before. It's refreshing to see that there are at least some open-minded folks (such as "DeltaUpsilon") who can provide useful commentary on classes that they've actually taken. |

ATACORION, I'd like to gently point out that you are ignoring the OP's request for opinions from people who have taken the SUSR course. Not only have you not taken SUSR, you haven't taken a class from Bushido Tactical at all. If you bothered to read the OP, you'd realize that neither Magpul nor Pat Rogers even offer a class similar to SUSR. So far, you've gone out of your way to make two off-topic posts that crap on Bushido Tactical. This makes your opinion on this subject worthless and your motives suspect. Personally, I have taken classes from Magpul and Bushido Tactical –– both top notch. I have not taken SUSR yet but I will this year –– most likely in November. Many of us prepare for certain things but we've never really had our gear and minds put to the test. SUSR seems like a great opportunity to do this. |

I took the Bushido Tactical SUSR course, and found it educational and challenging. As far as I know, BT is one of the very few companies that teach a civilian-oriented survival course.
FWIW, I've taken quite a few other courses with BT, and always found Wade and his instructors to be extremely professional and organized, and the knowledge gained from the courses to be well worth the $$. |

I've also taken courses with Magpul and Bushido and have walked away learning something from both. If you have a mindset to attempt to learn something different it will IMPROVE your skillset. Isn't this the objective? After talking to a couple of students that have taken the class who's opinion I respect (One example is Ben who is pretty much no BS as they come) they have perked my intrest and am looking forward to attend the class. |

If I may ask, which matches have you shot with me at? ETA: Looking at your picture from another site, I don't remember you ever shooting with me but there are a lot of shooters during the matches. I usually remember the guys and ladies I shoot with on my squad. Ignore the haters Wade. He's probably one of the guys who complains about the amount of slugs shot per match. Happy New Year Wade. Hope to see you at the range this year. |

[Humor]The only problem I have ever had with Wade's instruction is the accent.[/humor]
I have been exposed to a lot of firearms training over the years and I learned a lot out of the Level 1 carbine course I took with Bushido Tactical last year. I will definitely go back for more as soon as I get back to work. He has good stuff. |

Thanks to having taken classes with him, I had a much easier time understanding "District 9" when I saw it on DVD recently! |

I have never taken a course form Bushido, but of all the classes this seems the one that I am interested in.
I have taken classes from Randy Cain, Pat Rogers, Tier 1, even Front Sight. And low and behold i always learned something, had a good time and came away better. And none of those teach a class like SUSR. So to those who have taken the class please continue posting helpful insight for those of us interested. To those with an agenda or suspect motives please provide relevant facts or keep your mouth shut. |

FWIW, I learned several things from Wade's courses that held me in good stead at courses I took with other top-shelf trainers, such as Magpul, Pat Rogers, Randy Cain, Viking Tactics, Modern Combative Systems, Morrigan Consulting, etc. And NOTHING that I learned from Wade fouled me up in those courses.
There's also a lot of bullshit info propagated about BT by people who have never actually trained with BT, yet are mistakenly under the impression that they are entitled to an opinion about BT's courses. An example is this classic: "Wade teaches that a sling it bad and that it should not be used"...WRONG, he teaches that a sling is good AND bad, convincingly demonstrates WHY it's good and bad, then lets the student do whatever works best for him/her. In a nutshell, Bushido Tactical offers solid, practical training that is grounded in the real world, period. ....this Spring I'll be taking a course with Louis Awerbuck, so if anything, training with Wade will help me understand Mr. Awebuck's S'African accent.
