Well, I stopped by Ancient City today to see what it was like.  Let me clarify that I am not a member anywhere, but I am doing my research.  From looking at their website, the place seem very impressive.  Looking at their fee structure I felt like this place was going to be top notch. Quite a bit more expensive as compared to GRPC.   The only thing that I have to compare it to was Gateway; I visited there facility about two weeks ago.  So...after looking at the website for ATTAC and seeing their pricing structure, going to their facility was a big let down.  I was not impressed for the cost.  Even shooting in their competitions you only save $5 as a member.  They sound like they are not as uptight as some of the RO's at Gateway though.  They have a separate facility for the police and military that they do not allow members to use.  I was very disappointed about that.  Any other opinions out there?  Why would I want to join Ancient City verses Gateway.  They are both about the same distance from my house.

I am a member at GRPC and enjoy the time I spend out there.
The 3 seconds between shots on the rifle range is the cause of most friction IMHO.
They allow some Class 3 but no full auto.
I enjoy shooting the steel plate racks as fast as I can and sometimes I just stop in to hit the .22 only range.
The members only 100 and 200yrd. rifle range is nice because the RO's are really concerned with the day shooters on the public 100yrd line.
Most of the time the RO's stop by,comment on my stuff and try to give me tons of reload data/advise.

I have only been to Ancient city once for Botter 3 and I can't wait for Botter 4

I am assuming from the response to this post that Ancient City is not very popular.

Ancient City is not very old and I don't believe completely finished, either.  In fact, I don't believe they have been open for more then a year.  It's not a function of popularity, it's a function of exposure.

I have yet to shoot there, but I have met the folks who own and run it a time or two, and they are members of the forum.  Nice folks.  Give the facility some time, and I am sure it will climb significantly in the 'popularity' index.

Ancient City is still being built, the heavy rain and flooding in the last year has put them behind. I know things they wanted to have done a few monthes ago are just getting done, for example installing popup targets on one of the ranges, I havent used these yet but hope to try them soon. They also have some tactical class on-site, not magpul level but enough for someone getting into that type of shooting. In my opinion anicent city would be better for people wanting to get into self defense or tactical shooting, no wait time between shots, plenty of steel plate targets, etc.
