Anyone know a good place to go to get a lower receiver engraved in compliance with the NFA for a SBR in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area?

+1 for chuck @ www.nflgun.com

Excellent work and fast turnaround.

He won't do it under the trigger though.  Guess I'll have to use Orion.

+1 for chuck.

IMO it wasn't worth Orion's $55 price tag to get it under the trigger, when Chuck could do it for $25

I got two done, with a one week turn around.

I barely notice my engraving.  The laser BS that is on it is an eyesore though.

Where on the lower is a good place to get it done?  I was thinking in front of the magazine well.

Also, this is my first AR and I bought the lower complete.  Should I strip it down before sending or would I be okay just taking the stock off the end and shipping like that?

You can send it to him with just the butt stock off with all the internals installed.  I had mine on the right side of the mag well.  The font is as small as law will allow and he blackened it to match the anodizing.  It really is very unobtrusive IMHO.

That's good to know.  What carrier do you use to ship?  USPS with insurance, I assume?

Considering how long you have the lower, saving 30 bucks is negligible.

Yep, USPS insured with delivery confirmation.  He has a super fast turnaround.  Shipped mine on a Saturday.  Came back to me on Thursday.

I had mine done at anvil arms, they are in the industry partners on here. Im only 30 minutes away from them, They charged me 15 bucks. they did my lettering and a nice umbrela symbol in between. Looks awsome.

Unless they have more than one setting, Anvil's laser doesn't go deep enough.  I have two engravings by them and they're not deep at all.

Right on.  Just the burning of the anodizing deep doesn't get you legal.  There are lasers out there that can get depth though past just the anodizing.  But as far as I know Anvil doesn't have that kind of laser.
