| how far away can a daytime launch be seen? would i be able to see it in Boca Raton? |
| Posted this in the other thread, but we can see it all the way up here in Gainesville, if the weather cooperates. We all go up to the 10th floor of Shands hospital if we can sneak out for a few minutes. Didn't get a chance today, but I'm planning on going down to watch up close in November. It is just a tiny, fiery speck when you see it up here. |

and they have to take a woman because no man reads the instructions when putting shit together....the Hubbell telescope would be screwed if she weren't there |

| I'm in Jacksonville which is about two hours up the coast and I can't count how many launches I've seen. As long as it's not too cloudy we usually get a pretty good show during the day and even better at night. The building I was working in was facing due South so we got a great view from the 4th floor on a few occasions. I saw another one at night earlier this year where it was zipping across the sky. Sometimes I've actually seen them going up when I didn't even know exactly when they were scheduled. It's pretty hard to miss if the view isn't obscured by clouds. Believe me, you're not going to mistake it for anything else. |

Buddy of mine sent me some pics taken from one of the recovery ships. It's one of the SRB's at splashdown. Never seen pics of this.
Here's a link to the pics. SRB Splashdown pics |
