Ok, someone here must know how to get rid of a bee's nest.  My dad's house (now passed) has a huge bee's nest (not wasps, an actual bee hive thing) inside the A/C wall unit.

I'm thinking about setting off a bunch of bug bombs pointed at it and hauling a$$.

Next option,  borax... I could sprinkle it all over the unit.

I am fairly certain they are africanized just because of the area (very common in gulfport), neighbor had the same issue and they were africanized.

Normally I would call a bee keeper but I don't feel like paying someone to kill them if they are africanized.

I also just considered turning on the unit and jumping in my car and leaving for a few hours, but that may just blow them into the house!

thanks

Start with one of these , then finish up with one of these.

You can also use soapy water, but there is no fun in that.

ps. remember to take pictures and video.

Open up cans of soda or juice and let them drown themselves.

Went through a class today on Bees.  If it is not a managed colony you should assume it is africanized and hire a company to dispose of the bees.

Get some coveralls, gloves, boots, and over the hat mosquito net from walmart. Ductape all seams very well.  Once this is done you are protected.  Now get a shop vac and start sucking them up. Take apart the unit and destroy the hive.  Use the vac to get all remaining bee's off of you when your done.  now you have a bunch of angry bee's in a shop vac, empty a whole can of insect killer into the show vac hose.   Mission complete.

Cover yourself up, and load a garden sprayer up with oil of some kind. Then watch the little bastards drown.

ETA: Also, you could use a can or three of PAM olive oil.

I am in the same situation as you, I have a huge hive in my cedar tree. I was told by an extension agent to have a bee guy destroy it, but  he wanted $400. to come and have a look. Sprayed that expanding foam to seal them in but they just found another exit, tried wasp spray, soap ,no joy. Please be careful I got stung about 10 times attempting this. For the moment we just leave each other alone, but I know that is not a solution.

BEES!!! Oh God, they're ripping my flesh off!

I love Tommy Boy...

Call a beekeeper - he might take them for no cost to you.

This!

They'll either round them up or tell you what to do with them (in the event they are Africanized).

You need a smoke machine / device, Shop-Vac vaccum cleaner and 55 gal trash can sealed at the top...

I've removed several bee-hives in my time in the past with great results...

10 years ago I used to work at a PEST Control company specializing in removing exotic species and pests...

We used two smoke machines to get the bee's to consume the liquid honey getting them full, slow and lathargic...

We had a 55 gallon trash can sealed completey all around with a shut off valve hole on the botton portion of the can to attach the reverse SHOP-VAC hose...

We used TYVEK full body suits with head web netting for protection...

The honey comb from the bee's are huge and clean ready to eat on the spot after the bee's have been removed...

DO IT RIGHT...

The honey-comb is awesome...

You can kill 50,000 bee's inside a trash container in 10 seconds...   Ask me how I know...

Post the hive on Craigslist and a local bee keeper will come and remove the hive and start a colony from it.

I vote for your AR-15 with a .22 conversion kit and a few bricks of ammo.  Look at it like target practice.

While I would stick to soap water, a GAU-17with about 2,000 rounds definitely sounds more appealing.

Good luck to you!

Well, I called around and nobody seems to want it.  So, I called a bee removal service and they came and (attempted) to kill the queen.  Still have bees, so I guess I'll know in a few more days...

They were just plain honeybees so it was a shame to kill them but they did quite a job inside my wall.
