Where can you go to shoot some steel and more practical, non static firing line type of training in the Sarasota to Naples area? Would like to be able to shoot AR's and pistols.
I live in Punta Gorda and work in Ft. Myers. I go to Webb to shoot - but that is just static targets from the firing line. I also know about Zemel road with USPSA / IDPA - but you have to be a member to shoot there during the week, and that doesn't fit into the budget right now. Another wish on the list is to be able to shoot my own ammo - have plenty for now, even some frangible - and most of the indoor ranges make you purchase theirs, in addition to the lane rental. Hansen Range off of Zemel Rd. in Punta Gorda. Any month that has a 5th Sunday, there is a 3 gun shoot now($20). I used to post a thread on here when one was coming up, but since I no longer live in FL, I'm not sure if Curtis won't post it himself.
You can join the Hansen Range and pretty much do whatever type of shooting you want but it is fairly expensive. I think its up to around $400 a year now for an individual. Family is more, no guests allowed. Other then private property, Hansen is your only other real option. |
