Hi all, For my fellow Tally-ho's I got banned from TGF, cause I called out our least favorite Mod JHS27275. So I won't be on there anymore. At least not as FL_FlatTop. I'll keep ya'll posted. SGB if I am violating any rules please delete this. I know you at least will have the respect to tell me I violated a rule, versus just disagreeing with you. Chris |

| I run TGF and my moderators have really become a problem lately and I am solely to blame. It has been brought to my attention by several members that the mods have let the power go to their heads. I am meeting with one of them on 10/13 to talk about the recent "Training" incident. SGB I am completely on your side on this one, cyclones problem with everything was he was thinking you and NYC we bashing Rick's course to promote you own, I found no evidence of this and like I said I will talk with him Mon morning. I started the site because their was no love for shooters in Tallahassee, and I think the site is a wonderful thing but it needs serious improvements. I am thinking of democratically electing some new mods and then rotate them out every few months so everyone gets a chance to help. FL_flattop if you read this please email or PM me. Great response!!! Glad to see someone that takes some sort of responsibility these days. Though I have never visited TGF, I would like to thank "sweett" for starting the site and taking an interest in helping the fellow man/woman. |
| Thanks I started the site with the same thing the road to Hell was paved with. I will give you some background here sorry I am having a cold beer and feel like typing. I was sitting with my friend one night talking about the lack of reliable info about firearms in Tallahassee and how I sometimes waste money on "Crap" that I buy on the Internet. My friend runs a local business in town and has at least a dozen servers and he said I could run the site off those, a quick purchase from vbulletin and viola! Tallahasseegunforum.com was created. I felt so good about the site I advertised it everywhere I could with business cards, organized shoots, Hell one time a guy in line at Walmart had a Sig Tshirt on and I introduced myself and gave him a card. I put my heart and soul in this thing and plan to see it until the end, unfortunately the recent problems have been anoniminity anyone can sit at home and be a BAD ASS! but its MY name attached to the site and I want it to stay honest. Do to my inexperience with web forums I never even imagined all the slander, harshness, and just negative things that people can say to someone that is not looking them in the eye. I am learning as I go and I want people to continue visiting my site not because of sponsors or personal gain in fact I get nothing from the site other than information and comroderary from friends made through the site. Thanks for your support I had to vent I am actually loosing sleep over a website I designed to be a hobby. |

Sweett, I love TGF, and it's provided a great place for us locals to get together. What you've done has been wonderful and very helpful to those like me. (Getting logged on from home is still a software problem on my end.  )Don't let it get you down. If you do that, it's all uphill after that. As admin, you just do what you have to do and move on. I think you've got some good people to pick from if replacing is what you're after. I don't think I've ever met JHS, but I have met Rob multiple times, and I have thought very highly of him, but this stuff is absolutely "it" for me. In fact, I'd be surprised if I don't log in from my super secret bunker tomorrow to find a nasty PM waiting on me, too. If you need anything, though, let me know. If you have any problems I can help with, please let me know. At the very least, I owe you some help for starting the forum and keeping it going. |

Sweett, I think it's great to have a local board. Being an Admin or a Moderator is a thankless job. It's obvious you have several issues that need to be addressed. cyclone and I have addressed where I felt he overstepped his mark as Mod and we've moved on. I look forward to a dialog with him. Apparently there are others who still have outstanding issues with your board. In my opinion only you know best how to deal with that. I think SGB is an asset to any community, it would be a shame to have him leave or be banned because of what appears to be a personality issue. Nigel_TLH ( NJC on TGF) |

| We are growing and I am as well(hopefully not too much I am a fat bastard LOL). I really don't have a problem with anyone there, its just that we need to take it to a new level. Cyclone is a personal friend of mine and we met this morning and am happy to say we are still friends and we agreed that their is problems and I am addressing them. I am taking a page out of the book of several forums and I believe we need to set up a "Round Table" of sorts different mods for different sections, meet every few months to discuss forum issues. Once again I am sorry for everyone's strife this is a process and I feel we will soon become the great information source that I originally imagined. sweett |
