| Would any of you go to Iraq to work? Military base 7500 a month? |
|
Isn't the first 75k tax free? My Dad did Kuwait after the 1st Gulf War. Even dragged my ass over there for 2 years of H.S. ETA: NEVERMIND...I just learned how to read

already applied at KBR for an IT tech position in LOGCAP, but I found little to no info about benefits or salary. I would like to know what the ranging salaries are because I would qualify for several different positions, and I'd rather go with what I do best and enjoy. |

I AM A TRUCK DRIVER SO I PUT IN FOR EVERY JOB OPENING THEY HAD FOR IN IRAQ AND IN AFGAN IT TOOK ME 2 YEARS TO GET A CALL. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THERE WEB SITE AND FILL OUT AND RESUME,, I HAVE THE GUYS NUMBER IF YOU WANT IT BUT YOU NEVER GOT IT FROM ME,THIS GUY JUST HIRES DRIVER AS FAR AS I KNOW ,, |
cdl required i presume? |
| I put resume on their site, got a call next day. Money depends on the job you do. As far as I know the govt has set a base for each job then you get a 75% haz duty pay and over time. A little tricky to figure out base pay + 75% of base pay + over time. I am expected to work 84 hours a week and maybe more. My pay = 7336.33 a month avg depends on how many day in month and how many hours of overtime. Hope this helps |
| YES YOU NEED CDL Tanker and hazmat,I had to tAKE MY HAZMAT TEST and pay for the background check that was 100 bucks..I was told around 80 people where killed driveing...I was told too that if you have and carry any weapons you are gone they send you right home.you need to get body armor |
base pay * 1.75 = iraq pay rate, OT = Iraq rate * 1.5 eta: page two is MINE!!!!!!!!!! |

In 2003 I the company I worked for subcontracted to KBR and I got to go to Gitmo for a week to oversee construction on the Alpha South II barracks for the MP's at the prison camp. The guys from Prime Projects Int'l and KBR were pretty cool. ABout ten white guys--American, English and Aussie--and about two hundred fifty Phillipinos and Malaysians. We lived in conex containers turned into little cabins with A/C, electricity. running water, etc. As a subcontractor, my employer (not KBR) paid me $400 a day. It wasn't a bad job, but I was supposed to be a consultant and advisor, I was specifically told their people would be doing the job while I supervised(sheet metal install of rain gutters integrated into the roof of the prefab barracks), but none of their people had so much as handled a rivet gun and I ended up scurrying around like a madman buttoning up and sealing the gutters myself. At the time, the guy from PPI offered me a gig in Iraq, but my wife was preggers at the time and said absolutely NOT. Now, five years later, and working a crappy job in W. Va, she's always asking if I can call them and request a job over there.

I was just doing the math on your estimated pay. Unless I don't understand, it only figures to about $22.00 an hour. Is this correct? I hope not, as an electrician I make way more then that at home. Is the base pay quoted, for a standard 40 hr work week, then the other 48hrs would be overtime? Then tack on the haz pay? If so that would be much better, make me want to go too. Dave |
| the work week is 84hrs./wk. when i was there i made a minimum of $8,000 a month. One month when we were busy i made close to twelve thousand for that month. there is a job there titled hazmat foreman or something like that. their base is fifteen thousand a month. more if they put in overtime. |
