There was a thread recently about botach technical and how they were having a big sale on this and that.

I checked their site and decided to place an order.

That was SEVEN weeks ago.

After I placed the order I read all the horror stories when people were chiming in and displaying their displeasure for these folks.

I realized that I had made a mistake...

I waited a couple of days and then e-mailed about my order.

No response...

I called about my order and got v/m, left one.

No response...

Called again the next day and finally got a hold of a live person.

They told me that they'd have to talk to the shipping department and would get back to me before 5 PM EST.

No response...

I then found the e-mail address on their site for canceling an order and used that route, told them in not so nice terms to go jump in the lake.

And then this weekend I get this:

+++++ Begin excerpt ++++++

Order# 491507

Dear Customer:

We have your order ready to be shipped however, your credit card number did not not process in our system. Please reply to this email or contact one of our customer service representatives at (323) 294-5555 to provide your credit card number again. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you

Botach Tactical
(323) 294-5555
(323) 293-7770
+++++ End excerpt ++++++

So it took them 7 weeks to process a canceled order and by the grace of god and all things holy, the credit card that I used on the order has expired.

I specifically told them to cancel the order and remove all my personal info from the database...

Summation:

Botach technical sucks ass and all of the horror stories you hear are true.

I ordered from them and they shipped really fast with great prices on the SSL-1 and Vertical front grips I bought from them.
All though I messed my order up online so I did have to call them every 15 minutes for about 2 hours and and once I got threw to somebody they blew me off and then I could not get threw again. I called them again at like 4::30 or something and I guess they had slowed down and they fixed my order.
All in all I would definitely order from them again!

I ordered ten Glock mags before they went out and received them in two days. I guess I was lucky. They do have some good prices though.

I don't know why everyone is ever surprised to hear about a Botac order gone bad.

There's only one way to deal with them.

Call and verify (speaking with someone live) that the products you wish to order are in stock.  They will more than likely have to put you on hold and 'call' their warehouse.  Then place your order with the nice lady over the phone and confirm with her that your order will be shipped immediately.  Don't hang up with her until you receive a  confirmation of your submitted order via email.  Then, if by the next day you don't receive confirmation that the order has shipped, call again.  This time don't hang up until you receive confirmation that the order has been shipped.

If at any time you call you receive a voicemail box, dont' waste your breath.  Keep calling back until you reach a live person and only deal with a live person.

Unfortunately, this is the only safe way to deal with Botac.  Yeah, it's more work on your part, but it might be worth it to save some money.

Beat me to it. My exact words! I've only ordered from them a couple times and this is the EXACT same process I went through and it went through and was delivered w/in 5 days including weekend.

There's NO WAY IN HELL I would order from the site though!

I've been on this site for about 10 years and there are a few things that have remained constant in all that time. One of them is Botach... They will screw you eventually. The company just plain sucks. All of you who think you have it figured out by saying "call to check inventory", or whatever your secret is... its no secret, its not a fail safe, sometimes it doesnt even help. People have been saying it for years. Usually followed up by the phrase "I've only made a few orders but everything has been great so far" etc. etc... Eventually you too will get screwed. Its not if, its just when. Accept it, expect it. Just dont fool yourselves into thinking acall or anything else will save you. When its your time, nothing will stop the screw up.

Meantime, if you choose to play the game and take your chances, take advantage of specials now and again. They regularly offer the lowest prices on things that are avaialble anywhere. Share with the rest of us what a great deal you got. Who can blame someone wanting a good deal? Botach knows the only reason the great majority of people shop there is becuase they sell stuff for cheap. It certainly isnt because people like them. But too many of us have been burned in the past and seen what kind of company they are to want to get near them again, good prices or not.

Yes this is the method that I used with them. It works. Try LA Police Gear for another option.

+1

I forgot to metion that I only order stuff from them that are not detrimental to my needs for of absolute immediate neccessity.  For example, if I see a great deal on someting I've always wanted, but never got around to ordering it, then I might place the order by the way I described above.  This way, there's no major disappointment if they screw up the order.  CC transactions can esily be cancelled if your product doesn't show up when promissed.  It's that simple if you make it that way.  If you absolutely need something in a seriuos way, you're taking a big chance with BOTAC.

I must be luckest SOB in the world...

I've placed over 20 orders from them in past couple years and I've never had them mess up on my orders.

I usually get my ordered shipped in 2 days and they arrive 5 days after that.  Few times they shipped but didn't charge me for an item on the order... usually something cheap.

I placed an order for couple of Blackwater gear recently and a week later it didn't ship.  I called and asked whats happened with my order and they said they were overwhelmed with Blackwater orders and was running about 7 days behind on shipping.  Three days later they e-mailed me my invoice and tracking number.  I noticed that they didn't charge me for the mag pouch.  The order arrived today and the mag pouch was included in the shipment and invoice showed $0.00.

I wouldn't say I got "screwed" just got the affirmation that the company has their issues.

I didn't have the relevant intel going in to the purchase that I do now.

FYI - I own and operate an Internet biz and we do things a little different than this outfit.

I bought a Camelbak HAWG a few weeks ago and I saw that Botach had a deal on one that was $25 less than other places. I was tempted but when I read all of the other complaints people had concerning them I decided to go and pay the additional $25 at GearZone for the piece of mind in knowing I would actually get what I ordered.

I hear some people saying they have great luck with them and others that are more like the OP's experience.

They hardly stock anything.. Most manufacturers do not like working with them and more and more have been cutting them off...
