Alright Mr.Patience. Looks very nice Writer. I don't know how many builds you have put together, but most people have trouble with the bolt catch roll pin and the front take down (pivot) spring / pin. If you need to use the install tool for the front takedown pin let me know. |
Hey, if I can assemble a lower kit within a couple of hours, anybody can. I suffer a handicap............ I'm a lefty. jj

and so explains the pesky HK bolt head...... ![]() |
I put my new Anvil Arms lower together the other night, and the tricky part for me was the roll pin on the leading edge of the trigger guard. I was afraid of breaking off the ear while tapping (increasingly harder) the roll pin into the lower. Everything else was pretty easy. |
Ron, I know what you're talking about. I tossed the roll pin on the front of the trigger guard on my first build and had to replace it. Was a bugger to get out but fixable. This one is going to be put together in two weeks with my nephew and we'll take it to the range directly after. Have plenty of ammo stocked up for just this little gig. I'm tempted to put it together today, but he wants to do it with me and can't get down from Jax for another couple of weeks. I'll post pics once its completed. I'm really excited about doing this with him as he just won a shooting competition at the state level. |

One thing I've seen with this so far in degreasing/cleaning it is that the barrel was somewhat dirty. By somewhat, I mean that I had to run the brush down the barrel 4 times, then literally spray CLP in large volume down the barrel to soak it good, then run patches thru it that came out black as black could be, follow that with wet patches of brake cleaner, then CLP soaked patches again to get them to come out clean. It took a good half hour of brushing, CLP, brake cleaner, dry patching, and do it all over again to get the barrel clean. I think that this is a Wilson barrel and its a 1x7 twist chrome lined, but it appeared to have been fired. I'm assuming test fired at the factory. The whole rifle kit seemed to come with a fair amount of lubricant all over it which was good, and it is very clean now for what that's worth. Writer |
Good on ya, Writer. FWIW... I have an array of those pesky small parts(springs & detents) that tend to disappear at the most inopportune times. If there's anything I can do to help, you have my number. |
Thank you sir! I really appreciate the offer and hope that I don't have to put all the detents and springs through Airborne school. However, if the first build was any indicator, there's going to be a lot parachutes around my house soon. Writer |
